MILFORD, Conn. (Reuters) - Connecticut said on Wednesday that it will provide special driver's licenses for illegal immigrants starting next week to help stop them from driving the state's roads unregistered and uninsured.
The move comes days after President Barack Obama issued an executive order protecting millions of undocumented immigrants across the country from deportation, which state officials said could boost participation in their drivers' license program.
"There are many undocumented immigrants driving without a driver's license who aren’t insured or registered, and we believe making that possible is very important," said Mike Lawlor, Connecticut's undersecretary for criminal justice policy and planning.
He estimated the number of illegal immigrants in Connecticut was in the tens of thousands.
Undocumented immigrants aged 16 and over, unable to establish their legal presence in the United States or lacking a Social Security number, will be permitted to start making online appointments on the Department of Motor Vehicles’ website next week to schedule a written test for a "Drive Only License," officials said.
The test will be offered in several languages, including Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian and Polish.

That would be a Real ID compliant drivers license. These drivers license for illegals are not compliant.
Some states say that they don't intend to make Real ID drivers license. So eventually, the AZ state drivers license will not be adequate to get on an airplane or into a federal courthouse.

Even legal citizens can’t afford gasoline in CT.
I envision the system will be abused similarly with CTs free-for-all... and lets just hope that wives and daughters of amnesty backing politicians are the only ones ran down by drunks and beaners.

This entire “administration” has been a series of mini Reischstag Fires.
Am I the only guy who believes this current turmoil has been orchestrated to serve as YET ANOTHER diversion to the DOZENS of ongoing Obama scandals, the recent immigration mess and the building crisis in the Middle East. Obama is well on the way to marginalizing the white population here with millions of new minority citizens who will soon become the new majority (and predominately welfare “beneficiaries” and DEMOCRAT VOTERS).

Estimate is that the “benefits” Obama will provide for them will cost YOU and your fellow tax slaves over 2 BILLION bucks per year. Better plan to file and pay early!

I live in Ct. And I have not bought gas here in over thirty years. I fill up in Mass., .25 cents a gallon cheaper. I figure over thirty years .25 cents X 20 gallons a week X 52 weeks X 30 years has saved me about 7,800 Bucks. And not a dime in Ct. coffers to pay for all the Deadbeats who reside here. Recent survey of residents in Ct. say the majority want to live elsewhere but they keep on electing the same liberal Asswipes who have ruined this State.. Go Figger!
And how is that going to force them to buy insurance and register?
Every uninsured driver that has been my unpleasant experience to encounter...
...has held a valid driver license...(some Mexican, some not).
The logic that ‘granting something’ (a license) as a result of a wrong (coming here illegally) somehow induces responsible behavior (as opposed to the expectation that ‘more will be given’) is defective.

Yes, give them all drivers' licenses.
That way, if the next President is a Republican, he can take back Obama's recent immigration executive order and know exactly where all the illegals are living in Connecticut.

Are we stupid or what? Did our parents, and grandparents and great grandparents just simply get it wrong about our nation and its values. Did the greatest generation, who fought against Nazism and tyranny, sacrifice and die on foreign soil so that our American Dream and its values and principles could simply become a joke? This is what has befallen the nation since Obama took the oath of office as president of the United States. Now he stabs the nation in its heart and soul with an Executive Order that allows millions of illegal alien immigrants to become unofficial-official citizens. According to the New York Times Thursday, November 20th, is the date the president decided to shield illegal immigrants from deportation.
There are hundreds of thousands of liberals, socialists, Democrats, and some Republicans in Name Only (RINO) who support this move by Obama to give into the tyranny of relentless badgering at the nation’s walls of law that protect Americans. This action by the president is a culmination of a series of lies, mistruths, and out and out hammerlock tactics that have nearly strangled the lifeblood of liberty from the U.S. Constitution and the laws which protect Americans.
These illegal aliens have plied their tales of woe and of desperation upon the willing ears of sympathetic mainstream media writers and have evoked images of pain and suffering of years on the run. Can you imagine that: years of running from the law which was supposed to be enforced by the Border Patrol agents and the Obama administration. So a criminal who breaks into your home is now given the keys to the house because it is politically incorrect to deny the law breaker access.
What about justice and following the rules that were and should still be the hallmark of this great nation? Are they now trivialized and even scoffed at by the inhabitant of the White House and backroom mainstream media pundits?
Do not be mistaken, this is not an invitation to warm and friendly illegal immigrants who only want a chance at the American Dream. No, it is an out and out invasion by law breakers who have no respect for the laws that govern the nation, or for its language: ENGLISH!

On the verge of going bankrupt with an astounding $26.3 billion deficit, the nation’s most populous state is considering saving hundreds of millions of dollars annually by cutting monthly welfare payments to illegal immigrants.
The savings doesn’t even include the billions of dollars that California spends annually to educate, incarcerate and medically treat the 2.7 million illegal aliens (7% of the state’s population) who live in the state that has so generously offered them sanctuary for decades. It turns out that legislators are finally realizing that illegal immigrants are draining their precious Golden State.
That’s why California officials, extremely generous with tax dollars in the past, are trying to find a way to eliminate welfare payments to tens of thousands of illegal immigrants. The move, which has caused outrage among the state’s powerful open borders lobby, would save a much-needed $640 million a year.
An example of who the state cuts the monthly checks to is an unemployed 43-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico who gets $650 a month for each of her four children and about $500 in federal food stamps and other vouchers.
