Cameron accused of 'total failure' on immigration
BBC News ^ | 11/27/2014 | BBC

New figures show a "total failure" by David Cameron to reach his target of cutting migration to less than 100,000, says UKIP's Nigel Farage.

He told the BBC it had "never been a genuine pledge" because the UK's EU membership meant "we have a total open door to nearly half a billion people".

The prime minister's spokesman said immigration from outside the EU was down and more would be done.

But Labour said the PM had made a promise with "no idea" how to keep it.....

The Office of National Statistics said on Thursday that 583,000 people moved to the UK in the 12 months to June 2014-while 323,000 emigrated from the country.

It means net migration is higher than it was in the year to June 2010 when the coalition came into power.

Mr. Farage told the BBC the Conservatives had made a "dishonest promise" in their manifesto, at a time they are trying to "say immigration and Europe were two separate issues".

"It represents the total failure of what David Cameron said to the electorate in 2010," he told BBC News...

The headline comes from the BBC. which according to Daily Mail columnist Peter Hitchens, is in the tank for Cameron.

I guess like the MSM in this country that supports Obama.

With immigration into the UK out of control its no wonder the new political party UKIP is on the rise.

Nigel Farage is my leader.....

In before the "as long as they are legal, the more the merrier, forever...and forever...and forever...and forever".

In the UK there is actually a political consensus that immigration must be reduced drastically. It started from the BNP's slogan, "British jobs for British workers." Amazingly every major British party now supports reduced immigration.

A recent poll found that the party that supports the working man is now UKIP, not Labour. If the Stupid Party, the GOP, would be smart enough to let the Dems own amnesty and increased immigration, and instead, become the party of the working man echoing the slogan American jobs for American workers, they would flip the electoral advantage now held by the Dems.

Both parties have abandoned the American worker. There will be a third party if the Dems and GOP maintain their current stances on immigration. The GOP wants more guest workers to satisfy the demands of their corporate paymasters. The Dems want more immigrants to make them the permanent majority party. The ball is now in the GOP's court on how they handle Obama's amnesty and what solutions they propose on legal immigration.

In the special election last week UKIP took 2/3 of the Conservative voters and 40 percent of the Labour voters in winning with 42 percent of the vote.

UKIP has been drawing in the British National Party voters and even one percent of the voters who supported the small Christian Party in the UK.

If they can pull that all together nationally on May 7th, 2015 in the General Election, they could hit 38 percent of the popular vote, which would get them a majority and victory in the election.

Nigel Farage has a more realistic goal of building UKIP into the party holding the balance of power focusing on 100 or so of the 650 seats in Parliament. We’ll see how that plays out.....

The Democrat and Republican politicians are both making big special interests that line their pockets happy. They are for the big business elites and not the small business owner or average person.

An American "Immigration Reduction Party" would have to go a bit left on some issues to have a chance of doing anything besides taking GOP votes. Like - Immigration reduction for the environment! Or something about prioritizing U.S. blacks over new migrants.

Gotta scare both parties to actually achieve something.

Like - Immigration reduction for the environment! Or something about prioritizing U.S. blacks over new migrants.

That is already being done now by those of us in the immigration reduction business. Blacks feel more strongly than whites on reducing immigration, legal and illegal. And there are environmentalists who want to reduce immigration. A number of years ago, a major fight in the Sierra Club broke out about taking a position on immigration. One faction wanted to take a stand on reducing legal immigration. It gained a lot of support until one of the major donors stopped it. They now say they support a policy that helps other countries improve economically and politically so their people stay in their home countries.

This issue really cuts across political lines It did in the UK. It happened in the US in the 1920s.

UKIP has been drawing voters from all the parties. The election in May could change the political landscape in the UK. Right now, there are only 2 UKIP members in Parliament. I doubt they could achieve a majority in Parliament this time around, but they could easily supplant the Liberal-Democrats as the third largest party. UKIP could then have a major say in what kind of coalition government is formed.

You are absolutely right and Chuck Schumer knows it that is why he was at the National Press Club telling them the Democrats are going to make this pitch for the middle-class and instructing them on how to present the strategy to the public.

Meanwhile the stupid party will take its money from Wall Street and fulminate for the benefit of the base and prevaricate for the benefit of Karl Rove's constituency.

i think, as the article illustrates, the parties all say that they’re for reduced immigration. Say is a bit different from actually being for it. Much like our Dems and too many pubbies, what they say about immigration and what they believe is quite different. To many it’s simply a numbers game and a perpetuation of their positions of power.

Uh... no. The destructive immigration is by what Brits refer to as “Asians”, so as not to offend the Muslim extremists who are taking over England and raping young girls.

Just saw the speech Cameron gave about UK immigration at some factory on the Bloomberg cable channel - sounded pretty good, unlike the illegal immigrant loving dunce here in the US.

His points:
Take away monetary incentives, end illegal immigration, minimum of 18K pounds earned per year by immigrants, social benefits to those legal immigrants only after 4 years, no job before entry=no entry, end scam marriages and so on is all I remember at the moment.

I have no idea who he loves or who he does not love. But, I agree the fewer of those cancerous muslims the better for any Western nation.

From what I just heard Cameron saying, it sounds at total odds of the BBC report quoted. Who to believe? The horse’s mouth or the media outlet’s spin?

If I had not just heard the speech and had an interest in UK politics - which I do only in general - I’d find some online link to the speech and post it.

For those non-UK watchers: the speech is worth listening to even just to hear the stark contrast between Cameron and Obola. For the UK, UKIP fans: I’ll do an even steven trade: Obola for Cameron.

I just listened to it, also. Pretty good. Bet they have some France-like riots over it.

Cronos is right, most of this number are from Europe, mostly E Europe.

The Muslims are NOT taking over the UK, this is the hysterical OTT language we British Freepers rail against.

BBC in the tank for Cameron, what is Hitchens drinking/smoking? The Beeb is in the tank for Labour and the Liberals, not the Conservatives.

Hence the rise of UKIP. The UK’s major parties have failed to deliver on their promises. But it is important to note that the major parties have been forced into at least saying they are for reduced immigration because they understand that it is politically advantageous to say so. We have not reached that stage in the US.

How do you feel about Britain First? They are drawing a lot of heat for standing up to the Moslems yet they draw all sorts of condemnation.

UKIP & BF to save their nation.

uh. no — the “immigration” that they are protesting about is immigration from the European Union. The Moslems there are already second generation. that’s a different issue, but the immigration one is about European immigrants — you can read up on that if you want
