I spend 29.99 at Lowes. That was the extent of the shopping I did on White Friday. Wife and already purchased the gifts for the family in the previous 10 months or so.

There’s no way they could reliably know that.

It was very slippery in the am in NW Ohio/SE Michigan with several pileups. Will probably pick up after the 1st of Dec. due to paydays.

The story lies!

Obama says the economy is cruising right along. Jobs are plentiful. Lots of excess cash for Christmas.

Okay, one of them is lying.

2nd story out of Yahoo on declining sales. At least one other report reporting the opposite.

Not surprised. Listened to the usual MSM crowing about the strong economy and Black Friday turnout. Once again, the meme and reality don’t match.

And sales for 2013 were substantially lower than 2012.

With the exception of a few stores with big sales, my town (Topeka, KS) had very light traffic.

The real story will emerge around March when all the 18-32 percent interest rates become due, by July-August all we will be reading about is a credit crisis, failed mortgage payments and bankruptcy again.

Not sure about the “season” as a whole, but it looks to me like the “BF” hysteria has faded quite a bit. My daughters dragged me out to the Target store that opened Thursday 6pm and the line to get in was half as long as what it was in 2013.

In spite of predictions being good this year, the sales are not going to be good.

I think retailers think thst if they predict it, they will come.

The retails sales Field Of Dreams.

I spent $0 this year and $0 last year. Can’t see spending more than that next year.

Could it have something to do with the fact that we have less money to spend and the essentials of life cost more?

Of what benefit are Black Friday sale prices on 60” plasma TV’s to a hungry family when a trip to the grocery store costs 50% more than when Emperor Obama was coronated?

I spent $130 at Lowe’s today for a through the wall doggie door.

Other than that, I’ve been making candles, dog blankets, Dog Biscuits, candied jalapenos and Chimichuro condiments for Christmas presents.

The depressed holiday sales are all due to the store boycotts in Ferguson, Missouri, where people like Garth Brooks are so upset over the refusal of the grand jury to indict that they just can’t shop. The weather is bad this winter, and its due to the failure of the grand jury in Ferguson, Missouri to indict that cop. The office Christmas party lacked spirit this year and it was because everyone was so depressed over the failure of the grand jury in Ferguson, Missouri to indict that cop, whether he was guilty or not.

Is this sarcasm? If not I would start job hunting.

How can anybody be “hungry” when the fed gov is supplying on average $133/month/person in food stamps and the kiddos get free breakfast and lunch @ la escuela which is not deducted from the total?
