I listened to the sound bite. He seemed to clarify his position with Dana. The bit about “no guns in cities” seemed to be from an older clip on Glenn Beck’s show. Do you believe that if someone elucidates a position and changes their mind that indicates they’re posturing?
Smart people reveal how wise they are by admitting ignorance on issues which they are ignorant.
Better to be thought a fool than open your mouth and confirm it.

You call people who ask that the Constitution be followed and understood by those running for office, “progun types”?
What an odd insult you hurl at people who understand and follow the Founder’s original intent.

Has he been sitting next to Pelosi lately? The statement he made about shooting for the legs leads me to believe he will NEVER make it to POTUS and he should NOT.
Dr. Carson has shot his potential campaign in the legs.
Stick to medicine Dr. Carson where you excel.

I disagree.
I once saw John Wayne shoot the pistol out of a guy’s hand from horseback at 2500 yds. while outrunning a pack of Arapahoe warriors as he was rolling a cigarette with his other hand.
Carson watches way too much TV.
The answer, I think, is pretty simple.
Free votes.
We expect that the black community will vote for the black conservative over the white communist. This might generate almost 10 percent more votes and guarantee a win for us.
It's not a bad strategy as long as the candidate truly holds conservative views. Carson is definitely lacking some depth when it comes to the Second Amendment.
Fair enough. It’s still far too early for 2016 decisions to be made, but I will be mindful of this interview in future decisions.

I still like Carson, but my post was stating that he should say so when he is ignorant on a topic - like guns, history of RKBA, etc -
or get educated.
Smart man. Smart enough to learn these things.
Should be smart enough to admit when he’s ignorant.
I doubt that such a person would be incapacitated quickly enough to prevent them from stabbing the shooter to death, for example.
Bleeding enough to die before getting into an operating room in ten minutes is far less bleeding than is required to render a person physically incapable of continuing an attack for thirty seconds.
Count off thirty seconds and imagine how much damage could be done in that amount of time.
I was taught that there are three ways in which an attacker can be quickly stopped.
One, damage his circulatory system sufficiently that he becomes unconscious through lack of blood pressure.
Two, damage his central nervous system sufficiently that he cannot consciously control his body.
Or three, damage his muscles or bones sufficiently that he is unable to control his body.
Shooting center-of-mass maximizes the possibility of accomplishing the first two. An inaccurate shot might accomplish the third. Aiming for the legs ignores the first two mechanisms and relies completely on the third. This is not a wise trade-off if the penalty for failure to stop is death or great bodily injury to yourself.
Such is the influence of Urban Legend, the philosophy of the inner city.
That is our household running joke. Everytime there is a police shootout here the news will say something like.....at least 13 shots fired and the perp was injured, hit once.

A bullet in the bladder regfion is a good stopping method. The pain is a quick way to shock and since the region is rich in major blood vessels and nerves. The shot if it hits in that region will bring a two legged attacker down quickly. The trouble with that method is how difficult it then becomes to place a shot in the brain box of a writhing attacker.

Carson seems to be taking himself out of consideration. This comment belies common sense. Add to it the so-called “assault weapons” ban. See ya doc.
Until he eventually showed his hatred for Israel.
