Grand Jury Declines to Indict NYPD Officer in Eric Garner Chokehold Death: Sources

A New York City grand jury has declined to indict an NYPD officer in the chokehold case of Eric Garner, the unarmed man who died while being arrested on Staten Island earlier this year.

In opting not to indict, the panel determined there was not probable cause that a crime was committed by NYPD officer Daniel Pantaleo, who was seen on a widely watched amateur video showing him wrapping his arm around Garner's neck as Garner yelled, "I can't breathe!" during the summer altercation.

“Patrick Lynch, president of the PBA, has consistently maintained that Pantaleo performed a seatbelt hold rather than a chokehold on Garner during an attempted arrest which precipitated the 43-year-old father’s death on July 17 in Tompkinsville.”

And the medical examiner ruled it homicide, via the hold. Why in the world would I listen to the president of the PBA, who’s only concern is protecting cops, even from their mistakes? He’s hardly going to give you an unbiased assessment.

I never claimed to be Jesus anymore than you claim to be a jackass. And no, I have never been arrested because I really have not broken any laws, yet.

Oh so now it’s “not really” broken any laws. Probably something almost as minor as selling a cigarette.

The distrust of the system and of normal people is a result of the routine corruption that we’ve come to expect because nobody will ever stand up to it. We’ve learned the system cannot be trusted and people are stupid. So we all feel defenseless. Because we are. That’s what the corruption has created - a doq eat doq world where everybody has to look out for number one because there’s nobody else willinq (and/or able) to look out for us.

That is absolutely what is happening. A massive breakdown....

Escalating widespread distrust of government at all levels, causing massive cracks in our foundation.

Sums up what I too feel, el perfecto

Take care.

Thats okay. This case really is a travesty. Seems the guy had a bunch of misdemeanors. Damn, if he just would have went easily, he probably could have been out selling cigarettes the next day. Probably after breaking up that fight, and the takedown by the cops, he was already winded. The pressure on the pavement could have been enough to kill him.

It would be interesting to see Grand Jury facts. This isn’t murder, probably not even manslaughter, but maybe negligent homicide.

Yes, and Barry and Eric are enjoying the show. The Elites will never live with what they have wrought.

The examiner cited compression of the lungs, compression of the neck and pressure from being in a prone position.

not my point at all..... his preexissting conditions contributed partially because he had four cops sitting on him. The real point is don’t break the law.

With this case, and the Ferguson case, do either of these cops have a record or complaints of overuse of deadly or extreme force? Most likely they do not.

http://www.ibtimes.com/who-daniel-pantaleo-nypd-officer-who-killed-eric-garner-was-accused-misconduct-1733094

Pantaleo was sued twice in the past for alleged racially motivated misconduct while on the job. Two black men accused him in 2012 of subjecting them to an illegal strip search in broad daylight. Pantaleo purportedly “tapped” each man’s testicles during the search, which he claimed was a bid to discover any contraband, the Daily News reported. The suit was settled last January.

In a second lawsuit, a man named Rylawn Walker accused a group of NYPD officers that included Pantaleo of arresting him despite the fact that he was “committing no crime at the time and was not acting in a suspicious manner” and of including misleading data on a police report to justify the arrest, the Staten Island Advance reported. Charges against the man were ultimately dismissed.

Do you have a point?

A demented parasite black is dead at the hands of the demented parasites on the NYPD.

This isn’t the first nor last conflict with these groups.

Not so sure. Massive widespread escalating distrust of government has the potential of getting brutally ugly. It’s brought down entire countries all down through history.

Ya know it’s bad when the normal work-a-day Joe on the street is thinking the same thing.

Been thinking, who are you going to call when the criminals start to take advantage? It will be “stand down time” and innocent people will be victims once again.

I don’t have/can’t afford a firearm and when (the old saying) seconds count the Police are minutes away.

I’m getting physically ill watching my Country burn.

Wow, that could change everything.

Thanks for the info!

Seems this cop deserves to lose his job and Wilson didn’t.

Looks like that on the video. The guy may have had a pre-condition that aided or sped his death but he was choked to death by a police officer. I’ll believe my lyin’ eyes on this one.
