Face It: Republicans Want Amnesty
rushlimbaugh.com ^ | 12-3-2014 | Rush Limbaugh

RUSH: Since I have explained all this logically -- and the end result of explaining this logically is to illustrate the on-the-surface illogic of all of these people afraid of the government shutdown. It simply is illogical. Everybody bleating about, "No, no! No, no! Ohhhh, no! Shut down the government? Oh, my God! Shut down the government? We're gonna get blamed. We're gonna get creamed! No! No!" They don't really mean that. Here's what it all means.

They may mean that, but when you strip all this away, what it really means is -- and batten down the hatches here. It means that the vast majority of the membership of the Republican establishment and their donors want amnesty. That's what all this means. You've gotta cut through the noise here, which is one of the things I always try to do, not get distracted, 'cause all of this talk about a government shutdown is a sideshow. These people are smart enough to know.

Hell, if I can figure it out, they can.

"A government shutdown is so devastating that we can't recover! Oh, my God," and we only won a landslide election? What this is about is the establishment concocting an excuse where they don't have to stop Obama because they don't want to, folks. That's the only logical interpretation for all of this. The election results are clear. The voters don't want any more of what Obama is promising, implementing or offering. They don't want any more of it.

The election was the only way people in this country have of saying "stop." Well, the people they elected to stop it, at least in the case of amnesty, don't want to stop it. But they can't come out and say that. They can't come, after all of this, and act like they are as eager for amnesty as Obama, but they are. We know it to be true. We know the Republican establishment, we know the Chamber of Commerce, we know that many of the donors want amnesty.

They want all of these low-skilled and low-educated workers because they're low-wage. They've not even denied this, in recent months/years. So what this is really all about is it's just easier for these people to hide behind the dangers of a government shutdown as the excuse for not stopping Obama. That's all this really is, because they're not this shortsighted.

They don't really think we can't shut down the government and stop Obama because of a poll in the Washington Post about being blamed for a shutdown. It's that they don't want to. The polling data is a convenient excuse. "Hey, look, if we do it we're gonna get creamed! We just won, and you want us to throw away this victory by ticking off the people who just elected us?" It's a sideshow excuse. That's what it is. Face it.

3Rd Party, Conservative, is the ONLY alternative in the electoral process.

There's nothing else.

Actually, Rush has been making these sorts of claims about the GOP Establishment for years now.

That the GOP is even talking about Romney or Jeb Bush in 2016 shows just how out of touch they are with conservatives.

I do not disagree with your assessment. I will be eagerly pulling the lever for Cruz if he runs. If Ted is elected, I will want him to have the majorities that we currently have in Congress.

Funny, but your position is EXACTLY where I was in 2000, when I campaigned like hell for dubya, stood on street corners in single digit weather protesting the BS recounts and such. I just knew then that if we could just elect him, and get that majority in the House and Senate, Conservatives would have it on easy street! And then we did win! The House, the Senate AND THE WHITE HOUSE! And then we got the so called "Patriot" Act, Part D, and the beginnings of the bailout/too big to fail policies that have been furthered by Obola. No thanks. I'm done with being stabbed in the back. You go right ahead like a good little pubbie and pull that lever for the GOP. Just don't whine when they turn around and stand with the leftists, because in the end, that's all the GOP is anymore.

We got blamed for last year’s shutdown. Did we lose in 2014? false premise that you accept.

I think it was Milton Friedman who said the government gets what it wants. If the border is open it’s because they want it that way.

Big business, and the Chamber of Commerce wants Obamacare. It will NOT be defunded.

problem is, those who leave the GOP will scatter amongst several small, conservative or constitutional oriented parties.

If that happens, hello Democrat dictatorship without any sort of filter.

The whole concept of a “government shutdown” is a total misnomer because the vast majority of it remains fully operational. The only aspect of the federal government that actually shuts down is the estimated 17% that provides non-essential services. So if they’re non-essential, why do they even exist in the first place??

If the Dems want to try to play hardball by threatening to temporarily “shut down” 17% of an already grotesquely bloated federal government, I say BRING IT ON!! The lives of over 99% of Americans would not be adversely affected by this in any way, so why not dare the Dems to just do it?? The GOP is going to be hated no matter what, so why not just for once stand up for its conservative base, fight on principles, and DO WHAT’S RIGHT FOR THE COUNTRY???

Not entirely without. You forget we have a 2nd Amendment right in this Country for a reason, and it ain't about hunting. Democrats completely in power? Let's face it, we seriously need a "reset" in this country. Perhaps Democrats in control wouldn't be so bad. Well, not in the end. It'll be a little rough for a while, but we're Americans. We'll survive.

He is not just now noticing this. He has made this point on many prior occasions. He’s making again today because the GOP is re-mounting its fear tactics around shutting down the government.

It’ll be a little rough for awhile is an understatement of large proportions. It would be far worse than a little rough. Though the American people will survive (albeit minus a rather sizeable number of them). IMO

"if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you... "

I can't take Rand Paul seriously when he utters stupid statements like that (and he is far from the only one pushing that meme). Being an American is about FAR more than simply "living and working" here. Back when we used to actually enforce our immigration laws, we were very selective about who we allowed in and to whom we bestowed the privilege of citizenship. When wise people actually ran things, they tried to ensure that anyone permitted to immigrate would be an asset, rather than a detriment, to our society. They also took the common sense measure of quarantining prospective immigrants to ensure that they did not import diseases. And those seeking citizenship were required to renounce any allegiance to any other country, become proficient in English, and embrace the principles upon which the U.S. is founded.

Now, however, we truly have anarchy. "Immigrants" get to decide for themselves when and how to come here and we are expected to just accept it. Any suggestion that they should desegregate themselves once here and embrace American culture is met with shouts of "racist!" and "xenophobe!" The resulting epidemic of crime and third world disease is covered up by the media and ignored by politicians. And these same politicians have become so corrupted by the lure of obedient votes or cheap labor that they simply no longer care about adhering to their sworn oaths, nor do they really care about America's founding principles. And sadly, I'm talking about politicians on "our side" here....the Democrats are simply the worse side of the same coin.

America cannot continue to be America without Americans. To be American requires a common civic character and allegiance to a common set of guiding principles. If immigrants want to come here from wherever, renounce the governing principles of their home country, and fully embrace American culture and philosophy then great, get in line and follow the process. Prove that you are American material. If however, they simply want to come here "to live and work", but continue the same beliefs and behaviors of their home country culture, then we would be idiots to accept them.
