Minnesota's governing body for high school sports passed rules on Thursday that one critic said could hypothetically put a future NFL linebacker at power forward on a girls basketball team.
The Minnesota State High School League voted that boys who "self-identify" as girls and girls who consider themselves boys will be able to compete on and against teams of their preferred gender under the policy that will begin in the 2015-2016 season.
"When there is confirmation of a student's consistent and uniform gender-related identity…the student will be eligible to participate in MSHSL activities consistent with the student's gender identification for the balance of the student’s high school eligibility," reads the policy. Executive Director Dave Stead noted earlier this year that the NCAA and 32 states already have “some sort of policy or procedure” in place regarding transgender student-athlete participation.
The league's media specialist tweeted out, "Minnesota will become the 33rd state to implement a policy for transgender high school athletes."
The policy requires transgender student-athletes to provide a written statement from a parent or guardian affirming the gender identity and a note from a health care professional regarding the student's consistent gender identification.

I want my place of employment to recognize me as Napoleon. All they have to do is provide me with uniforms of a 19th century French field marshal. It is far less disruptive than what these gender confused people are demanding.
Any athlete who wants to go to college will not fart around on the Girls Field Hockey team. Wait till the first season where some “gender confused” dude breaks a girls sports record.
Can I “self identify” as a lesbian girl trapped in a man’s body (but I’m comfortable with it, what with diversity and all)and still shower with the girls field hockey team even though I have an outy nor an inny?
We made a mistake by permitting the progressives to play with language and define the terms of the debate. Sports teams should be explicitly separated by sex, not “gender”.
Even ignoring the real issue, that men and women should not compete physically for a variety of other reasons, males with testosterone and the associated muscle mass should not be competing against females without testosterone. “Yes, Sweetie, I know you identify as a girl because of your mental illness, but if you look in your underwear, you will find that you are biologically male. Sports teams are determined by biological sex, not by the gender you have selected this week.
Students will now weigh their gender-options for scholarship opportunities.

Wait until a girl’s field hockey team is completely compromised of gender-identifying ‘girls’...I can see that recruiting pitch...Now the buttons on the skirt go in the back, oh you look so precious...
At this point I would say just open up everything to everybody. Don’t even keep count of how many boys and how many girls try out or make each team. Make acceptance to each team based on skills and ability, just like the military. Come up with a strength, stamina, and agility test, and if a student can meet some proscribed threshold let them on the team. For contact sports come up with a sliding scale based on weight, height, or skeletal age, whichever is appropriate. The added benefit is that we could do away with Title IX.
Then just stand back and see what happens.
That’s what state assemblies (senators and representatives) do. And realize what kind of people in your states have the most influence to choose the candidates.
Remember it.
What about boys who consider themselves girls who identify themselves as boys that consider themselves girls? Can’t leave them out.
I wana go out for girl’s volleyball; don’t care about the game, I just wanna shower with the girls.

Probably at the state capitol begging for more ‘non-profit’ money from the legislature,amnesty for illegals, and ‘co-existing’ with an inner-faith panel on social justice.
Title 9 forbids all that.
