Take nothing for granted. A victory is not enough, it needs to be a landslide.

Anything less than a landslide will be trumpeted by the media as a Democrat comeback.

... it needs to be a landslide.I hear 24 points..

This means Republicans, who also control the U.S. House of Representatives, would have to work with Democrats to pass most legislation. Didn't Harry Reid change the rules on that? What's sauce for the jackass is sauce for the pachyderm, isn't it?

His victory would give Republicans 54 seats in the 100-member Senate, enough for a majority but not the 60 seats needed to avoid the tactical blocking procedure known as a filibuster. This means Republicans, who also control the U.S. House of Representatives, would have to work with Democrats to pass most legislation.
Whaaaa? The 60 vote majority needed to avoid being blocked... that was eliminated by Harry Reid.
If Harry can do it for judicial nominees, JonJon can do it for legislation. This author only wants repubs to work w/ dems.
The US media is great when a republican is in office - so repubs have to watch it. I wish the media would do its job when a dem were in office.
It's killing our country.

Didn't Harry Reid change the rules on that? Yes he did, and dumbass Mitch McConnell said he'd restore the 60 vote rule if the Republican's took the Senate.

Obama can read it Sunday morning...after breakfast, basketball, golf...
well, guess Sunday afternoon would be more likely.

Actually, I think what is being referred to here is a veto-proof majority, which Harry Reid has no control over.

Every bill should be an appropriation bill which only requires a simple majority.

If the Republicans were smart they would expand on what Harry Reid did in changing the rules. Make it a simple Majority vote in areas that benefit them.
Do it with no fanfare. When challenged simply reference the election and cite Obama’s statements. Elections have consequences. REPUBLICANS WON BIG.

Believe it or not, what McConnell wants to do is absolutely actually the right move; Obama is not going to make any appointments that most republicans are going to like and that the dems want to stop. If McConnell does not repeal this rule all Dingy needs to do is peel away a couple of Rinos to the democrat side, push obama’s appointees through with 50 votes plus Biden. Therefore we must must must restore the 60% rule for the next 2 years!
