No mention Eric Gardner was tied to Organized Crime. No mention of previous arrests. No mention Store owners complained they had to sell smokes at inflated prices (Sin taxes) while crooks sold loosies on the Street. Selling loosies to folks who are hokked on cigarettes and cannot afford the tax.
No mention five officers were sent in to enforce the oppressive Sin Taxes.
From the failed Al Gore candidacy forward, GWB received an unprecedented barrage of negative press and Democrat attacks.
Conservative frustration came into play as Bush failed to defend both himself and his policies. (I blame Karl Rove a lot for that.) The only bright spots were Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld, who defended themselves against the onslaught.
Our GOP candidate must be charismatic and able to defend our philosophy aggressively. This is why Jindal has such a following. He’s great on both accounts.

WASHINGTON– The United States transferred six detainees from the Guantánamo Bay prison to Uruguay this weekend, the Defense Department announced early Sunday. It was the largest single group of inmates to depart the wartime prison in Cuba since 2009, and the first detainees to be resettled in South America.
The transfer included a Syrian man who has been on a prolonged hunger strike to protest his indefinite detention without trial, and who has brought a high-profile lawsuit to challenge the military’s procedures for force-feeding him. His release may moot most of that case, although a dispute over whether videotapes of the procedure must be disclosed to the public is expected to continue.
