Ah, so it was R versus Rino. I’m glad “R” won.
History has been kind to Sam Jones, and most historians agree that he was a “reform” politician. I like to think I would have been one of his supporters, had I been old enough.
IIRC, I voted for Bob Jones in 1975 against EWE.

The prototype for Miss Piggy has been broken. Now she can sign up as a lobbyist and make some money.
There was some controversy about whether she even lived in Louisiana, or if her million dollar Capitol Hill townhouse was her actual legal residence.
No matter. She won’t have to move from Washington as she transitions to her new lobbying career.
