Exclusive: House GOP Leaders Trick 216 House Republicans into Accidentally Supporting Obama's
breitbart ^ | 12/7/14 | Matthew Boyle

In a lengthy interview on Friday afternoon, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) exposed how House Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Majority Whip Steve Scalise strengthened President Barack Obama’s executive amnesty with procedural trickery former Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber would envy—and they did it all in the name of pushing a bill that they told Republicans would block Obama’s executive amnesty.

What’s more is that a series of interviews and recent developments indicate that Boehner’s gambit here is placing several of his top lieutenants—including at least two committee chairmen—at political risk of serious primary challenges just a few months after newly elected Rep. Dave Brat (R-VA) beat now former House Majority Leader Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) in a Republican primary.

Gohmert said most members had no idea what they were actually voting for when 219 members—216 of which were Republicans—approved a measure, H.R. 5759, first put forward by Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL), but subsequently dramatically altered by leadership officials in the Rules Committee process.

“I was a cosponsor of the original Yoho bill. I thought it was a very decent bill, it was very short—it was only about a page and a half—and it basically said that anything the president did in violation of current law including what he’s done with ordering work permits for people who are illegally here, it’s illegal,” Gohmert said.

Boehner is Speaker because these Representatives made him so, they support him.

That was the voice vote. There is another vote in January.

We need to hit our Reps tirelessly to NOT elect Boehner in January.

Be more specific: “We need to hit our Reps tirelessly to NOT elect Boehner in January... unless [something important to your District] or “...if he passes a full budget with Democrat votes instead of a short CR”.

Nobody really wants his job

Am I to understand the people we elected to represent us are so stupid they got played by the likes of Boehner? If this is true, we have more problems than just incompetent leadership.

If you read the article far down in it is how it happened. They did not get played. The leaders were whipping a vote on a bill that they later changed, didn’t tell anyone, and you would have to have known the change happened to be able to ask for it in a certain way to even get a copy of it. It was very deceitful.

You're right on the money there. Having to deal with the AITWH would be enough to cause GERD.

House Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Majority Whip Steve Scalise should be convicted of treason.

Not only did they use a trick to get Republicans to support Executive Amnesty, they have decided to make Executive Amnesty the law by using subterfuge to change that bill, without notifying members they had done so. Thus creating a bill that gives the president legal right to pass out green cards to anyone he wants to declare downtrodden.

This responsibility was given by the Constitution to Congress. Boehner has abdicated this congressional right and responsibility and placed it on a golden tray at Obama’s feet. How is anyone, even any of the states, going to be able to sue when it is part of the law enacted by both houses of Congress and signed by the president? If you’re imagining Chief traitor Roberts is going to stop this, you are living in La La Land.

What Obama had absolutely no right to do before, Boehner has given him every right to do. It will sail through the Senate, Obama will sign it, and the only way to get rid of it will be to get another bill signed into law removing it. Good luck with that being done over the next two years.

It appears Boehner is owned/controlled by the same bi-partisan faction that have perpetually pushed for open borders and amnesty, and also are constantly pushing to nullify or weaken the 2nd Amendment. I don’t know the reason but it is obvious that political elites and Party leaders always seem to lack the will to consider what it is that is in the interest of America and what we citizens want.

The politicos talk about body cameras on cops. We’d be well served if we the people had access to body cameras with audio on members of Congress.

Of course the drunken ho
Boehner has got to go.

What we FReepers have to do is stay on the phones throughout the Rump Session. The "Republicans," (Whateva TF that means nowadays)are total whores. But, they are OUR whores. We voted for them and now they must turn the tricks for which they were paid.

If the "Republicans" (see above), with the Constitution backing them up, cannot handle a Kenyan/Indonesian queer fergusonite, what the hell good are they?

Lock and load.

From reading this story, I tend to agree with Yoho's office that the 11th hour amendment merely buttressed the bill's constitutionality, by referencing the President's court-established "humanitarian purposes where the aliens are at imminent risk of serious bodily harm or death" power. The bill is window dressing anyway, since it will not get by Harry Reid. It is intended as a sop to conservatives, a cover for this week's Omnibus bill.

I agree that the Omnibus must be fought or amended. As for this bill, I don't know what the fuss is about. Louis is doing a great job, but he should be keeping his powder dry, rather than shooting from the hip at a fake target. I wouldn't put it past Boehner to have baited the conservatives on this one to make them look bad.

Nothing like seeing with your own eyes the three branches protecting each other, while strengthening each branch to form basically a federal bureaucracy over the citizens. I just don’t know when the majority will wake up to see we all are losing our freedoms. Maybe, when they cannot have access to their smart phones and facebook.
