If you sign up for Denver college professor Charles Angeletti's American Civilization class, be forewarned that you're going to have to recite his invective-filled 'New Pledge' -- and according to some of his students, also be ready to swallow a big helping of his politics.
Angeletti, who teaches at Metropolitan State University of Denver, has students learn an anti-American spoof of the Pledge of Allegiance that denounces the U.S. as a Republican-controlled bastion of injustice, all while spewing his own far-left brand of politics, according to current and former students.

True enough! I agree with you. Part of adding God into the pledge was part of the anti-communist reaction.
However, while the left accuses OUR side of mindless jingoism, they are the most pervasive USERS of mindless jingoism to “Organize the useful idiots”....
While we are distracted with the pledge in the schools THEY are blantantly VIOLATING THEIR OATHS they take to uphold the constitution.
I feel the left is using it as another wedge issue to distaract from what the other hand is doing.

If I lived in Denver, I’d. sign up for that class if only to try and give him a stroke. I’ve got my Masters degree, so I could care less about a grade. If I got an F, I could take it again.

I have always considered it to cover any female, of any race, urban or rurual who is a single mother who intentionally has mutiple chilrens from mutliple fathers in order to get on the government rolls for life....
Charles had a crush on the prettiest girl in school. Beautiful, statuesque, popular. The All American American Girl.
She had the nerve to not recognize that he, not the other guys, was the superior male.
She’s not the girl that got away. She’s the girl that didn’t give him the time of day.
Now he hates the culture she reflects with all his heart.
This may not be that horrible. He may be the kind of guy you could write the anti-thesis sort of pledge, and if it had truth to it, he may call for the class to recite it.

You ask a black family with kids they want to have a better life what life is like on the liberal plantation, and they’ll probably say something similar.

I’m not defending this guy, but sometimes you need a class like this to get kids to stand up and defend a position. That’s not horrible.
That’s what I thought... in some areas that is more black than white, although it may be tied to less jobs or opportunities.

I would ‘audit’ the class and then argue with every single thing that he says.
I had a very mild mannered professor in college who started out his first class in every course by announcing he was a socialist who believed the U.S. was doomed. He seemed to expect a big reaction but what he got was a class full of bored students looking at their watches (before cellphones) and yawning.
The poor guy was actually very nice and a good professor. He wanted to be a fired up radical so bad, but he was really just a geeky little guy stuck in a classroom. His only fault was he made us read ‘Leviathan’ by Hobbes, which put me right to sleep.

-Americans should hold allegiance to the Constitution, not the flag! A flag is just a piece of cloth that is supposed to represent nationality, but it does not define what it is to be an American.

-Loyalty to the Republic implies loyalty to the almighty Federal government, this is not what the Founders intended. Rather, people are supposed to be loyal to their respective states, communities, and liberties.
“One Nation, under God, indivisible,”
I don't really care about the under God part, that wasn't in the original pledge anyway. However, the concept that we are one nation indivisible is BS. The Union is NOT a suicide pact, any state can freely leave if they choose to do so. To argue otherwise would be antithetical to the intent of the Founders.
In my opinion, the ONLY thing that Americans should pledge allegiance to is to their rights and individual liberty. Especially Amendments 1-10.

Pretty simple answer to this, no one take his class. Either that, don’t say it. And then challenge him in court saying that he and the school are violating the 1st Amendment. Nothing schools hate more than being dragged into court and having their dirty laundry made public.
Too bad hickenlooper was re-elected. A real governor would cut off any and all funding for the institution except for the salaries of the operations people, i.e. janitors, maintenance and admin folks. Tell all the professors to take a hike.
