FWIW, an “internal investigation” was conducted and they were all exonerated.
Even though he had done nothing except panic and they had tazed him dozens of times, just for crying and running a few feet.

All it takes for a black to man to get shot is to rob a store, attack a cop and grab his gun. So sad.

So, just for kicks, I checked the local news site to see if there was any mention of it.
The newspaper, no, but the local TV station had 2 articles.
The first was total fabrication of the event, flying in the face of his wife’s eye witness of everything from their vehicle, although they claimed he was just”walking along RT 40, alone” and he “resisted arrest”.
Then there was a heart wrenching tale of how hard they tried to save him, after he was “found to be unconscious” for no apparent reason.
The second article was the cause of death one, which is even more surrealistic.
Said it was “cocaine intoxication” [not likely] a pre-existing heart condition [first I’ve ever heard of that] and *then* they admitted the tazers.
The summary was “we just don’t know how he died”.
No wonder his parents were so outraged.

My state cops are cool, our sheriffs can’t be beat...but city cops?

I guess I’m lucky to live in a small town. Even the “townie” cops here are good guys. Due to a dispute with a neighbor I think I’ve met every one of them in the last two months.
Are you serious? Why would there be a slew of cops at a corn field?

I am not sure what that has to do with Blacks in America since the vast majority of them have never even been to Africa let alone actually being from there. Also for the same reason, I’ve never understood the term “African American.” Just where does that leave the “whites” who actually do live in Africa?

Sorry, but I’m feeling it. And I’m feeling everybody feeling it. I watched those B-Ball guys on TV after MNF, and it really got me going. I’ve stands all I can and I can’t stands no more.

They had a call for a possible burglary somewhere near that area and they stopped him because he was driving a truck.
The article also said they knew “he had nothing to do with the robbery”.
They’d all been called out and were possibly “bored”.
I have no idea.
Only the dead guy and his wife know for sure.
That cornfield is the very edge of the “city limits” and my guess is that the WalMart ‘mall cops’ heard the other LEOs call and jumped at the chance to do something other than look for people parked illegally in handicap spots.
Honestly, I can only hypothesize as the reports are wildly conflicting and massively ass-covering.
I don’t even live in a “town” so I only see counties and states around here.
They’re all good people.
When I *have* to drive within the city limits, about 20 miles east, you would think I was taking my license test, again.
Signal every corner, dead-on the speed limit, all lights working properly.
I’ve been to their rodeo, myself.
Not anxious for another ride.
