BIRMINGHAM, Alabama - A woman who just finished walking her dog in Avondale this morning was attacked when a man apparently followed her home and forced his way inside.
The woman wasn't injured, and was rescued when her husband awoke.
Birmingham police spokesman Lt. Sean Edwards said the incident happened at 4:56 a.m. The woman was walking her dog in the 3800 block of Fifth Avenue South.
When she finished and opened the door to her apartment, the assailant forced his way in behind her. He pushed her down and covered her mouth with his hand to keep her from screaming.
The husband was in the bedroom asleep, and heard his wife yelling. He rushed out to the living room, and the two men got into a fight, Edwards said.

Basically, the worst possible area of Birmingham to live, and you could write up three or four robbery articles like this daily from the area. Nothing new.
It’s the one town in the state that you need to stay on the interstate and never leave via any exit...even for gas.
These thugs are making all black men look bad. Because of a few, the many will suffer.
The Mobile area, Montgomery, and Huntsville also have areas that I wouldn’t stop to get gas.
She needs to get a bigger dog; or a Chow Chow or two.

When we drive through on our way to Florida traveling NE to SE (skipping Atlanta) it seems like we have to drive through some tough places. Is there a better way through town? I have stopped for gas there once, felt good to be packing.

There are a lot of very good black men. No doubts about that. Unfortunately, violent crime is far to common among blacks.
The 80% that make the other 20% look bad.
I use that crime show “The First 48” as a guide of cities to avoid...and Birmingham’s a pretty prominent player there.
Damn right, and it should be that way! According to the Blacks and the Dems
all whites are racist for being White. It's the perfect recipe to keep Blacks
on the Democrat plantation for votes. Create resentment and keep Blacks from being
hired and on the Gov dole. If Blacks are smart they're sure Stupid for falling for this crap!

I don’t think it is 80% bad, 20% good. Maybe it is 5% bad, 95% good. But 5% is a large number.
At least that's how my eyes read it the first time, and the picture of a man swinging Tokugawa Ieyasu around his head in preparation for assaulting the burglars temporarily entered my mind...
IT all depends on the population mix of any given area, but I have encountered many more scary whites and non-blacks than I have blacks. Just in my own personal experience.
Wonder what color the dog was.
I drive through there when I go that way to Virginia, and I have always made sure to never need to get gas while in the area.
Blacks at 12.6% of the general population constitute 60+% of the prison population. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, one in three black men can expect to go to prison in their lifetime.
