I heard the left/homo-activists wouldn’t even accept the concession that homosexual men would be allowed to donate if it had been a year since their last “encounter”.

Somehow, expecting celibacy for a year was too much to ask.

“Men having sex with men are not the only subset of Americans who are not allowed to give blood for life.”

How about those of us stationed in Germany (not U.K.) any time during 1980 to 1996 who are forever banned due to Mad Cow? Look up Jakob-Creutzfeld disease. Talk about remote likelihood!

But faggies don’t want their feelings hurt!

Simple way to end this dispute would be to put a label on the blood which clearly says “THIS DONOR WAS TREATED FOR AIDS”. Then have the recipient sign a release stating he was aware the blood he was accepting was from an individual who had been treated for aids.

How much of the donated blood so marked would be accepted? How about NONE?

The frightening part is: How would blood banks know if a donor was a so-called “MSM” or not? Or if the donor used intravenous drugs? The whole policy is based on the hope that the donor will be honest.

Triple Negative headline SHOULD have read:

One would think that a person with risky blood wouldn't WANT to donate blood. It's like when you have a cold or the flu and you try to avoid contact with people to avoid giving it to them. But you're right, this notion only works for sensible people who actual care about the well-being of others.

I had surgery in 2001 and refused to accept a transfusion in the event that it was deemed necessary.

the American Red Cross and the American Medical Association joining homosexual activists in saying the ban is based upon unscientific discrimination.
No, that would be Globull Warming. The homo-blood ban is based upon facts. Period.

My appendix ruptured in 1982 and wasn't detected for four days (long story), resulting in emergency exploratory surgery. Luckily I didn't need a transfusion because that was right around the time all the contaminated blood was being used.

Don’t worry, they will keep trying, and suing, until the FDA caves. How many of the people on the panel of the FDA are up to stay for very long? If a few change, the decision could be different. The fact that it didn’t pass now, I am breathing a sigh of relief, but I hope that this doesn’t change before the days of cleansing of the Earth, but I am preparing for the worst.

Heh.. Has anyone noticed how the acronym for dudes who like it in the butt is also the same acronym for the mainstream media?

But on topic, anal sex is one of the main ways diseases are most easily transferred, as the rectum is very thin and easily passes diseases. And doesn’t have the same anti-outsider defenses like your mouth, nose, ears, or vagina.

And what is it? Approaching 50 percent of all open homosexual men being an HIV infectee? That sounds factually, and statistically too risky if you ask me.

Somehow, expecting celibacy for a year was too much to ask.

There are a lot of married men who would agree with them that a year of celibacy is a long time. However, it's not a life and death issue except for the victims of gay blood donations, where it is a question of life and death.

What’s more, shigella is a parasite that is hard to get in certain areas of the body, much less spread through means other than anal penetration. The primary other way it ever spread was people drinking water with fecal matter contamination, but that was eliminated by wastewater treatment. So we could have almost eradicated shigellosis from the population, had some guys not had a disturbing fixation with the bodily waste canal.

That was a bad time. You were very fortunate not to have needed a transfusion.

It’s also not just HIV/AIDS that can be a problem, but also Hepatitis C.

If it was an issue of life and death and faithfulness to my wife, I would do one year, but thankfully such a scenario has not happened, nor do I hope for it to happen.

Second, to infect the general population, in order to “force them to care”.

That has been on their agenda since the early 80s. I recall hearing a homosexual activist stating in an interview that they were going to contaminate the blood suuply because it would force "straights" to get serious about funding AIDS research.

It's always about the money.

Gee this is what, a major accomplishment of the FDA to not allow a disease-ridden gang of queers taint the blood supply. How shocking that concern for the public’s health outweighs the “rights” of the mentally and physically deranged to dictate health policy to the rest of us.
