I was still grieving the loss of Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown and the non-indictments in the Ezell Ford case and others.

Oh, barf. This snob hasn't thought about anyone but herself from day one, but still manages to play the I'm-a-victim card.

My WHITE wife’s WHITE grandfather picked cotton...picking cotton wasn’t just a black’s endeavor or burden.

GTH you racist witch.

I suppose I am a ‘victim’ of microagression, as well, you see, once, when I wore a red shirt while shopping at Target . . .

I have a polo shirt like that. If I’m wearing it inside a store I likely will be asked if I “work here”; it’s happened on multiple occasions.

Had to go back and check for the author, as I thought it might have been written by one of the Obama daughters. (I write while wearing my monogrammed bathrobe)

Bet she has never seen a real cotton field in her life. But if she ever does she will feel offended by the sight and go into a rage!

Life is not easy. Being poor while black is a major grievance; so is being rich while black.

Screw you preppy black girl. I PICKED COTTON during summers starting from about age 7 to 16 when we thankfully moved away from the farm where my grandparents were tenants. I know exactly what it feels like to put my little hand in a bush of prickly cotton and end the day with fingers torn to shreds. I remember dragging a 8 foot bag behind me in the hot GA sun desperately hoping I'd reached my quota for the day - a quota that went up every year. I used to add cotton to my siblings bags because I was tired of their sobs.

Do I shudder when I see cotton? Nope.

Do I yell at store clerks because they use it in a display? Nope.

Guess what? Life is NOT all about ME and it is NOT all about YOU.

Now, go buy a new blazer to make yourself feel all better.

Like Cal Thomas wrote on Thanksgiving, we are blessed with material abundance to an extent unknown in previous generations and despite it, we’re not very happy.

We’re not content, we complain, we are full of resentments and carry a chip on our shoulder throughout life. We don’t know how good we really have it.

I am thankful for what I do have, I make a note to thank people who have helped me and I take contentment in the small pleasures of life. For all of that, I thank God.

At least I’ve come to know what’s truly important in life. There are people in this country like this young rich woman who may have all the wealth in the world but are not rich where it truly counts.

As if this kind of thing doesn’t happen to everyone. Grace Hopper got taken for a flight attendant wearing her admirals uniform on a plane once.

This sounds as believable as the Rolling Stone rape story. She could just do what those of who hate shopping do and order what we need from LLBean. Problem solved. But of course, she really doesn’t want her problem solved. She feeds her narcissism with her perceived discrimination at the hands of uppity whites.

Heaven forbid she make a rationale thought about why Brooks Brothers chose cotton stalks as its decoration: cotton sweaters, cashmere sweaters, cotton shirts, hmmmmmmmm.......wait! Maybe because cotton is used to create these wonderfully soft items to adorn our bodies with!!! Silly racists.

As a fat, middle aged, white guy, who dresses business casual I feel micro aggression every time I shop and people assume that I am the store manager. I really hate that! Racist pigs!

” But we see endless fields of torture and misery. “

From a generation that has probably never seen a cotton field.

By the time I got to this...

Because to African Americans, the sight of raw cotton is equivalent to a swastika.

I KNEW this gal was jerking our chains. Really good stuff here. I do love sarcasm and satire.

"My style of dress is classic preppy. My fashion sense evolved from my years spent in boarding school, where I was required to dress that way for class: khaki pants, fitted dress shirts, crewneck sweaters, and penny loafers."

Actually, Stacy, I would call that a lack of style, sweetie.

For crying out loud, slavery ended a century and half ago.

There are people in this world who work as slaves. They would love to live her life.

Like I said, she’s stuck up in the worst possible way imaginable. There are snobs like her and a snob is no respect of race or station in life.

But its all our fault that despite leading a privileged existence most of us can only dream of, that she’s perpetually angry at the world.
