Facebook is thinking about adding a way to "dislike" posts on its site, founder Mark Zuckerberg has said.

Speaking at a Q&A session in California, he said it was one of the most requested features the social network receives from its users.

He said the site would need to find a way to make sure it did not become a way to demean people's posts.

"He said the site would need to find a way to make sure it did not become a way to demean people's posts."

In other words, they can't abide free and open speech and discourse there.

America demands Justice for the Fallen of Benghazi!

O stranger, tell the Lacedaemonians that we lie here, obedient to their command.

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

Disqus changed their “down arrow” function so that it no longer records and displays the numbers of those that dislike the comment.

Can’t be hurting the feelings of all the libtards that got hammered for their insane comments

All because of the PC crap in our communications. Be blunt, give em a thumbs down if they deserve it.

IMHO, a ‘dislike’ feature would save a lot of nasty posts when people disagree. Compared to what I see, a simple dislike will save a lot of ill will.

Let me guess, because FB sees its new role to be grading the political barometer (ABC News is going to use their user data to “determine” debate and political coverage in 2016).

Disapproval that isn’t entered as a “dislike” button (A) is not quantified and (B) can be deleted by the owner of the post/thread.

This will allow users to thumbs down conservatives’ politics.

Zuckaschmuck says they don’t want it used to demean people (so therefore there can’t be dislike buttons on articles about advancing the homofascist agenda, death threats by unruly mobs in Ferguson, and articles about the mythological man made global warming craze).

I don’t know if Yahoo is still this way but there was a time that “dislike” votes on articles (vs. like votes) on yahoo news determined which articles where highlighted and libs worked overtime to manipulate the exposure (down on anything pro-life, down on anything good coming out in the news about the war in Iraq/Bush, etc.).

They could just allow users to disable the like button from certain posts.

I think FR needs and up and down vote for posts, and then keep track of the likes and dislikes of the FReeper.
