As usual, it's all about the backlash (that never happens) instead of the victims. I have my doubts about the claimed incidents. Still waiting for the vocal moderate muslims to condemn.

The Australian National Imams Council, together with the Grand Mufti of Australia, issued a statement saying it "condemns this criminal act unequivocally".

That's extremely rare. Usually, they sidestep actual condemnation.

This makes me wonder what would happen if the situation was reversed. If some whacko broke into a mosque and held 20 muslims hostage. How would the story be covered differently? What would the world reaction be?

He was confronted by another man who shouted back: “Muslims are welcome here.” Police urged the first man to leave, to a mix of catcalls and claps of support.

One of these men understand what being an infidel means to a Muslim, the other is blind.
