Jeb Bush just jump-started the 2016 election
The Washington Post ^ | December 16, 2014 | Aaron Blake

Jeb Bush became the first big-name potential GOP presidential candidate to make a major 2016-related announcement Tuesday, announcing that he will "actively explore" a run.

Generally, this kind of announcement will be accompanied by an "exploratory committee" — which is both legally and practically the same thing as launching a campaign, and is usually just an excuse to have two separate campaign announcements.

The former Florida governor isn't quite going that far; he says he will launch a new leadership PAC in January instead.

But make no mistake: Bush just sent a clear signal that he's very serious about running for president in 2016 (in case that wasn't already clear) and will very likely take the plunge. And his decision to announce this in December 2014 places the onus on all the other GOP candidates to get their ducks in a row — in a hurry.

The case for Jeb Bush: He has organization in Florida that can probably deliver the state to him. He has the Bush political machinery behind him.

The case against Jeb Bush: He's Jeb Bush.

Jeb needs to “actively explore” his own body, and maybe then he could find it and dislodge his head from it. It would be the ULTIMATE act of self-love for Fatty.

One GOPe darling RINO has entered the primaries.

Now all the GOPe needs is 2 or more conservatives enter the primaries, divide the votes, and clear the path for RINO.

Repeat of 2012 again! Ricky and Newt were too egotistical to reach a compromise and for one of them to drop out. The country does not have enough conservative voters to push 2 conservative candidates over a single RINO moderate.

I think you’ll see plenty of big time RINOs.

Bush
Romney
NJFatboy
Trump

All with plenty of dough behind them

No, what I have against Jeb Bush is his agenda on amnesty to illegals. What’s next? Amnesty to bank robbers? Child molesters? It is a slippery slope when breaking particular laws is condoned.

That would help the conservative cause more than anything else. Let the RINO’s divide the votes this time. But you seriously think Cruz, Walker, Pence, Jindal, Rand, etc. will unite behind ONE candidate? Do not hold your breath.

A canned ham is better than hillary too, but i’m not doing the “lesser of 2 evils” voting again. there are plenty of republicans that are a lot more solid conservative than the Jebster.

That is true, but any conservative would be far better for the long term interests of the country than Jeb Bush.

If we end up with any of these Leftwing RINOs, then we might as well give the White House to Hillary/Warren right now! As a Conservative I am sick and tried of hearing we have to vote for the RINO to defeat the Socialist, that has really worked out the last 2 times it was tried. NO MORE Friggin RINO!

I will stay home if bush steals this nomination (using winner take all like romney did last time). I stayed home on romney and proud of it.
I really see a third party in the very near future. If I can vote for a third party in that scenario — I will if we have a real conservative leading that party. I will not “hold my nose”. Let those liberal bastards hold their damned nose with our CONSERVATIVE Republican Candidate!!NO DAMNED LIBERAL amnesty loving candidate.ZERO
