do they notice when they ride down “The Ocho”, the 8 lane highway that connects Havana to Santa Clara, do they notice the lack of cars, that the drive has to keep changing lanes because there has been real maintenance since the Soviets built it. They don't see the sorrow of parents who can't afford to buy milk for their kids after their government ration ends at age 7.
Then and idiot like Tom Harkin comes back bragging on Cuba's health care system because the commies took him on a tour of a elite hospital. Meanwhile the average Cuban who is not a member of the Party ends up in a hospital where their family has to bring in meals, bedding, and even medicine.
“Useful idiots” doesn’t begin to describe them.
Ain’t it about time we stopped acting like hysterical chimpanzees over Cuba? The fastest way to democratize that country is to flood it with tourists, iPhones and laptops. Jayzus, people, learn how modern societies work. This is the electronic age. Just let MacDonalds and Target do its laissez faire work and watch Santos Trafficante roll over in his grave. This is precisely what Kim Jun Un fears the most.
