A federal appeals court in Cincinnati deemed a law unconstitutional that kept a Michigan man who was committed to a mental institution from owning a gun.
The three-judge panel of the Sixth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously ruled that a federal ban on gun ownership for those who have been committed to a mental institution violated the Second Amendment rights of 73-year-old Clifford Charles Tyler.
Tyler attempted to buy a gun and was denied on the grounds that he had been committed to a mental institution in 1986 after suffering emotional problems stemming from a divorce. He was only in there for a month.

You Freepers need to understand that 73-year old man who was confined for one month in a mental institution 28-years ago is too dangerous to buy a gun for self protection ... instead, we should give them to Mexican drug cartel members so they can carry on with their gang wars!

This is why a lot of veterans will not seek help for PTSD. There are a lot of good therapies out there, but why risk the stigma that lasts the rest of your life?
This also applies to any form of mental health therapy. Ridiculous that successfully seeking treatment should be used against you forever!
Frankly, it's not about making things safer; it's about the quenchless thirst of liberals to ban guns and ultimately control other people's lives.

RE: neo-socialists...while the Dhimmicrats constantly excoriate the ^neo-conservatives^ for their hawkish behavior and strict intrerpretation of the Constitution, why don’t conservatives respond back IN KIND by properly labeling ^neo-socialsts^?
