TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday declined to extend a stay sought by Florida officials defending the state's ban on same-sex marriages, allowing gay marriages to proceed in Florida next month.
Some weddings would be allowed to start when a stay expires after Jan. 5 following an order by the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta earlier this month.
"The Supreme Court once again has spoken, opening the door for marriage equality here," said Nadine Smith, chief executive officer of Equality Florida, an advocacy group.
Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, who asked the high court to block gay marriages earlier in the week, indicated she would not try to stop the start of marriages.

Consistently siding with radical liberal Federal judges who have redefined what marriage is for the first time in US history....and to HELL WITH THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE!! How arrogant of this Supreme Court, to allow 40 state referendums to be knocked down by lower court judges. How incredibly arrogant. How disdainful of the popular vote, how scornful toward local citizens who understand the importance of marriage better than the these robed barons.
With the help of the black-robes, America continues its downward trajectory into abject evil. I used to think the remaining vestiges of decency in this country would rise up and put a stop to all this deviant insanity, but I no longer believe America has any moral backbone. We’ve become a nation of degenerates.

This is more procedural error than anything else.

She argued the value of the legislation passed by Florida voters rather than the need for the continuance of the stay itself.
Who needs voters?
Ironic that W rode to reelection on many of these same statwide votes preventing gay marriage. His two justices undid those very laws and constitutional amendments.
A terrible sickness has infected America. Is there a cure? It would require a miracle.
They want to condemn people leaving gay relationships for marriage. It flipped when Massachussets ruled that having a gay lover while married was not adultery.
In other words adultery is now marriage and marriage is the illegal adulterous relationship.
