NAACP chief: Don't blame Democrats for NYPD shootings
The Hill ^ | 12/21/14 | Justin Sink

The head of the NAACP said it is “not fair” for the leader of a prominent police union and former Gov. George Pataki (R-N.Y.) to blame Democratic politicians for the deaths of two New York City police officers.

“I don’t believe it’s fair to link the criminal insanity of a lone gunman to the peaceful protest and aspirations of many people across the country, including the attorney general, the mayor, and the president is simply not fair,” Cornell William Brooks, the president of the NAACP, told CBS's “Face the Nation.”

Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos were shot and killed Saturday afternoon while sitting in their patrol car by a man who posted messages to his social media accounts described by New York City Police Commissioner William Bratton as “very anti-police.”

Images of an Instagram account believed to belong to the suspect, 28-year-old Ismaaiyl Brinsley, said he planned to undertake the killing as revenge for the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, two unarmed black men who were killed in confrontations with white police officers. In both cases, grand juries declined to bring charges, sparking protests across the country.

Those revelations led some to charge that Democratic politicians who had been critical of police tactics and supportive of the protests were responsible for the killing.

"There's blood on many hands tonight. That blood on the hands starts at City Hall in the office of the mayor,” Pat Lynch, the president of the largest police union in New York City — the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association — said at a press conference.

In a tweet, Pataki said the deaths were the “predictable outcome of divisive anti-cop rhetoric” from New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.

While Brooks argued the shootings should not be attributed to those pushing for change following the deaths of Brown and Garner, he acknowledged they were “certainly not a step forward” toward that goal.

“We have a violence problem, and the policies we’re pushing forward protect not only the public, but police officers, and the families they hope to go home to at the end of the day,” Brooks said.

"What do we want? Dead cops! When do we want it? Now!

I don't think this chant needs much in the way of interpretation. The people doing the chanting got their wish. Some but not all will live to regret it. Their neighborhoods are about to become a lot less safe than they thought possible..

If the Democrat politician propagated the lie that Eric Garner was killed by an illegal choke-hold, then he must shoulder the blame.

It looked like a choke hold to me and the medical examiners said that it was.

Excerpt
Medical examiners concluded that Garner was killed by “compression of neck (chokehold), compression of chest and prone positioning during physical restraint by police.”,[

They sure seem to have linked Ferguson and Trayvon to "white racist cops" without a shed of proof.

You haven't seen any GOP members hollering like Obama, Holder, Sharpton and decommunist in NYC.

Edit to add to the NAACP statement.

“BUT when anything else bad happens blame the racist tea party and every single white person, cop, republican, and Sarah Palin.”

Of course it’s fair. It’s fair to blame them for a hell of a lot more than that!

The Democrats blamed Sarah Palin for something not even close to her responsibility. Obama, Holder, DeBlasio, Sharpton, and Jackson all chimed in attacking the police within the US. The Democrats own this disaster and tragedy, hook line and sinker.

.... Well ......... With a chant like ..... "What do we want ... DEAD COPS ..... When do we want it ....... NOW".... Just what did these brain dead Liberals expect the outcome would be .... a growing amount of Live Cops?

.... It is my strong belief that Liberals do not have any understanding of the concepts of "Cause and Effect" or Common Sense" ..... their belief system is almost solely base upon Emotions and Feelings. Then when something negative happens because of their actions ... they turn to the "Blame Game" to try to justify their deeds ..... after all .... Good Intentions could NEVER have any negative effects could they?

.... Nope ... not in the Liberal world ..... BUT .... in the REAL world ..... YES!

You’re so right. Gabby Girl was a longtime hardcore leftist. People not in that district or paying attention were often fooled by her well-rehearsed lines.

So, the entire tea party, every R, every conservative, anyone with a bumper sticker or who had protested DeathCare in front of her office, the crosshairs, the phony gun scandal in Douglas, anyone who posted a campaign sign, anyone who dared disagree with Her Highness in townhalls (when she was finally forced to have some) — we were all pronounced guilty that morning. By the media, by the troll husband, by the sheriff, and by so many, many others.

They even had to create a new institution — their civility university, to make sure that anyone not a Communist be taught how to speak properly.

When you defend this type of behavior but not your own police force there will be consequences.
