A majority of U.S. military service members will receive a 1 percent pay raise in their basic pay beginning in January 2015, the Pentagon announced on Monday.
However, those enlisted members further down the military totem poll will see no pay raise, according to the announcement.
“Basic pay for service members will increase one percent, except for general and flag officers who will not see an increase in 2015,” the Pentagon announced.
This means that an Army member with the rank of corporal or specialist will receive an additional $22.20 per month, while those service members with the rank of captain will get a pay increase of around $54.30 per month.
This amounts to an overall increase of around one percent for most service members.
A service member’s housing allowance will increase “on average $17 per month, or 0.5 percent,” according to the Pentagon.
The Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) rate will undergo changes in 2015.
Renter’s insurance, for example, has been eliminated.

Well the royals exhausted themselves working on this stab in the back. Those part-time high-paid jobs are so demanding! They don’t even read the bills anymore. They have to pass them to find out what’s in them. It’s the only way to deal with the pressure. Pelosi spoke truth to the peasants. We should be thankful and servile like the peasants we are and kiss the rings. Like whipped dogs groveling before our masters for a kind word. /dripping sarc
This screw job was a bipartisan effort. Castrated Republicans and King Hussein continue to dismantle the military.
This must be the lowest raise ever for the military.
They sure aren’t going to be able to keep the homos in the military pulling crap like this. Homos don’t work cheap.
