Nearly four years ago, the media establishment swiftly and baselessly linked the Tea Party to the shooting of Arizona Congresswoman Gabby Giffords. But after this weekend’s murder of two New York City police officers, by a gunman who used the hashtag #ShootThePolice, there was no rush at ABC, CBS or NBC to condemn anti-police protesters who have employed the chant: “What do we want? Dead cops. When do we want them? Now.”
National Review’s Jonah Goldberg highlighted the outrageous double standard on Sunday’s MediaBuzz on the Fox News Channel:

The libs and their allies in the media truly feared the Tea Party movement. They attacked them at every opportunity — BECAUSE they clearly saw the Tea Party as a threat to them and their radical agenda. You can always tell what people fear by how obsessed they are with it.
Too bad the Tea Party never got the critical mass it needed to establish itself as a separate party. Big loss for the country.

You make a very important observation. You simply cannot play nice with the Left. They are viscous infighters who will stop at nothing to achieve their ends. They will lie, cheat, steal, and engage in outright extortion to get their way. They have no ethical standards. You summed it up well: “You have to play their game and hit them back hard.”
The reality is that Republicans are weak and the Left does not respect them. Unfortunately the Stupid Party will never figure that out.
That was over 24 hours ago, not a peep from even the most virulent Tea Party critics on my alumni chat room. They know their goose is cooked.
Yep, the Tea Party was up against a formidable trio: the Dems, the leftist media and the GOP. In many respects, the GOP was its biggest obstacle.
The Marxist Media are on the same side and fueling the fire.

No we don’t need to ever be like the jerks on the left. I’d rather be dead than like them... Why would we want to become liars, thugs, and totalitarians? What would we ‘win’ if we became as horrible as they are? Nothing.
That is the left’s game - they want us - and all people - in the gutter of slavery and filth... Anyone who likes to live like that can move to North Korea... or Cuba... hellholes of the Universe... the dreams of every ‘progressive’ thug.
The Left simply doesn’t know right from wrong anymore. Many don’t even accept that there is a right or wrong.
About half this country is Liberal, & growing. Imagine if your spouse did not know right from wrong. How long can such a relationship last, & how ugly will it get before the end?
