Based on your lack of control of your emotions, I would say your last comment is rubbish.
The manufactureres were worth a bit more than a “damn”. The technology, equipment, and production has left the shores and found new homes in foreign lands.
All this coincided with the decline of the economy when Jimmy Carter was elected. It was finished when Clinton signed the NAFTA.
During Reagan this area was very prosperous because we had Sanders (BAE) Raytheon, AVCO (Textron) and so many other defense industry companies. We still do, but Obama will make every attempt to close those as well.
