Good evening, Publius, and thank you for this Rockumentary for December 27th, 1978. ((HUGS))
Thanks, Luv, for spinning tunes for the troops. ((HUGS))
Good night and rest well.
And yet their light hearted tunes, esp. YMCA, played at many wedding receptions, probably did more to “mainstream” homosexuality than any play by what’s his name or amicus curie brief filed by the aclu or any of the rest. (Sorry, I’m sloppy and tired and too lazy to google, but I trust you’ll take my point.)
Not saying this is good or bad, just that it is so.
That’s a great tune. I heard the last bit of it one day on the radio and I knew it was great, didn’t know it was already a hit. It’s one of the great break up songs of all time, works for me re: a guy I broke up with decades ago!
Better late than never...
Thanks, spel, for this weekend’s edition of the Salsa Addiction Emergency Room! ((HUGS))
Did you have cataract surgery on both eyes? How far apart?
The glasses doc just said I now need to do it “sooner than later”. I had to sign a paper that says he could not get each eye street legal, even tho both eyes together will pass. So, it looks like sometime in early summer for me.
No prob, Ma! ;-)
I had the left eye done two weeks ago this past Tuesday, the right eye Tuesday so that the procedures were two weeks apart.
It’s a different world that I see now!
It’s a.....MIRACLE! ;-)
The eye doc referred me to who turned out to be the same place that did my lasik in 1998 (boy was I surprised at the date!). They have offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska. The docs rotate and cataracts on done on certain days. When I saw him about 6 months ago he said it wasn’t urgent, but it was coming. The glasses doc says it’s time.
I’m looking for that miracle, too. I sure will be glad to go back to no glasses. No glasses or contacts since 1998 except the last 6 months.
Was one eye worse than the other? Is the first eye completely recovered?
Good morning, Liberty, and thank you for the video tunes for the troops. ((HUGS))
Love the picture with the tune. You really find great ones to match.
Music bumps for all the songs in the Canteen.
It is a good tune! Glad you enjoyed it...even if it did bring up memories of a break-up. :)
Thank you, for the ping to the music, yes I do like Manhattan Transfer.
Happy New New to you and more good music.
Yes, the cataract in my left eye was very advanced. Even with the glasses I could no longer read the computer screen or see the teams/scores on the TV screen! ;-)
While it is not completely back to 20/20, it is 20/25 and the doctor insists that it will improve even further. I shall still have to have glasses because I have a .75-diopter stigmatism in my right eye that cannot be corrected with a new lens but the overall improvement has blown me away! Particularly, there was a yellow tint in everything that I saw and I was unaware of that. After the procedure the colors are very bright, the resolution is fantastic and the focus is amazing!
The procedure is fast and painless. I was awake for the entire procedure and remember all of it. They just gave to me a mild sedative to ‘relax’ me and local anesthesia in the eye.
For the left eye I was in the clinic at 7:30 and home before noon and that was only because I stopped on the way home to eat breakfast at an IHOP.
For the right eye it was pretty much the same but I got to the clinic at 8:30 instead of 7:30 so that I got home an hour later, 12:30.
There is still what the doctor calls a ‘floater’ in my left eye but he says that will disappear. “Floater” is the term he used to describe a little black spot that wanders around the eye aimlessly that can be seen as a ‘bug’ flying around the head. ;-)
