Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton Extend Run as Most Admired

by Jeffrey M. Jones Story Highlights

Hillary Clinton is most admired woman for 17th time in 18 years Barack Obama is most admired man for 7th year in a row

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Americans continue to name Hillary Clinton as the woman living anywhere in the world whom they admire most, and name Barack Obama as the man they admire most. Clinton has held the top women's spot in each of the last 13 years and 17 of the last 18, with that streak interrupted only by first lady Laura Bush in 2001 after the 9/11 terror attacks. Obama has been most admired man in each of the last seven years, beginning with 2008, the year he was elected president.

Obama has appeared on the top 10 list each year since 2006,

Who even knew the junior Senator from Illinois in 2006?

Guess the people who voted didn’t hear about the biggest lie of the year.

Yes, she’s the demon seed as far as I am concerned.

This is one twisted woman.

I’ve seldom thought of men this wicked. Her husband was one and Obama is the other. They seem to be two of the most wicked people in the nation.

Since 1946, when they started asking the question, the sitting president has always been the most admired man, except for:

1946, 1947 - Douglas MacArthur
1973-1975 - Henry Kissinger
1976 - Question not asked
1980 - Pope John Paul II
1999 - Statistical tie - Bill Clinton, Billy Graham
2000 - Statistical tie - Bill Clinton, Pope John Paul II
2007 - Within margin of error - George Bush, Bill Clinton
2008 - Barack Obama

Dec 22, 2014
THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

.........

The numbers showed nearly identical, dismal levels of support for both Mrs. Clinton and the president among white men (right around 35%), but Mrs. Clinton far exceeds what the president tallied among white women, with 52% saying they would be open to support her.

Mrs. Clinton would have to make up some ground to match Mr. Obama’s numbers among black and Hispanic voters. But the former secretary of state has a big edge among small-town and rural voters. Perhaps most interesting, Mrs. Clinton does much better among Latino women than she does among Latino men.

The poll also found evidence that to win the presidency, Mrs. Clinton would need to distinguish herself from the president. Some 22% of voters said they would be open to supporting Mrs. Clinton but also want to see the next president move in a different direction than the current officeholder.

“Who even knew the junior Senator from Illinois in 2006?”

Those following the Grammy award for Best Spoken Album.

The fix was in for awhile.

The American people have proved repeatedly that they are incapable of selecting people worthy of “being admired”.

With 35 percent of white men for HRC, she would win with at least 57 percent, maybe LBJ’s 61 percent majority.

Michelle 0 coming in No. 5 with 3% of responses. Behind Condi Rice and barely ahead of Sarah Palin.

Guess her lunch plan ain’t all that popular.

The nature of the question insures that there would be a crowded field of answers with no one getting more than a few percentage points.

If they asked “Who is the woman you LEAST admire?”, each of the top scorers in the first question would have many times more negative votes than positive. Is this poll were honest they would cite the least HATED of the popular candidates.

Otherwise it’s just a journalistic attempt to manipulate public opinion.

Good Housekeeping used to also track LEAST admired man and woman. I am sure that both duplicitous figures would have topped those polls as well, and with higher percentages than they received for MOST admired.
