Open note to Rep. Jim Bridenstine.

I salute your conviction and courage!

I noticed from your bio that you are a Naval Aviator and a Reservist.

It does not surprise that someone in today's Congress who displays such strength and conviction would have a military past (and Reserve present).

Good on ya!

Comments like yours seem to reflect an assumption that Boehner is not popular among the members of the Republican caucus. I’m not sure that’s true. He is certainly not popular among the conservative rank and file out here in the hinterlands, but there are many, many suburban Republican districts that think everything is just hunky dory. That factor, plus the heavy handed political muscle that Boehner can mete out probably means that he won’t have much trouble.

If they come up one or two short on votes to oust Boehner, you know it's rigged, again.

I would predict such as that is the way this corrupt "Two-Party- Cartel" works. Evidenced by 1000 examples.

The problem is 100% of the demodummies will vote for their man Bohner even though he is supposedly a republican rino.

Its a common practice to rig votes to pass unpopular things
in legislative bodies with votes arranged to help newcomers who don’t have a lot of seniority or might be vulnerable at the next election.

In Pennsylvania right around July 4th in 2005 when public attention was elsewhere, Democrat and Republican leaders in our legislature worked together in a “bipartisan” way finding the YES votes in their cacuses and letting others vote NO so they could give each member a 16 percent pay raise and the leaders a 34 percent pay raise.

The outrage forced a repeal and cost some elected officials their jobs anyway in the 2006 elections.

Like President Obama, Speaker John Boehner must have heard voices that didn’t vote.

Jim is a Great guy. We replaced a RINO with Jim here in Tulsa. He will not back down.

...That said, Boner will be reelected speaker because the party as a whole is absolutely corrupt. A few Republicans here and there who still have integrity will make no difference.

Hells bells, good point. Bohner is from an Ohio swing district IIRC, maybe it’s time for the GOP leadership to be from really GOP districts - such as Pelosi on the other side. She was safe no matter what in her personal re-election bids.

Since when does the gop care about what the voters want? If it looks like Boner won’t win they’ll vote for Pelosi. They’re determined to purge all conservatives from the party. That’s why I say stop voting for them and let them all join the democrat party. Then we’ll know exactly who our enemies are and none will be spies.

Yep. Boehner will be reelected. My only hope is that when he is, more conservatives will realize the fight for DC is rigged. It can’t be won through elections.

How many Democrats will it take to get Boehner re-elected? Another thread made it sound like if one lone Democrat votes to keep Boehner then he is safe.

How many so called conservatives will follow this man’s lead?

Hopefully enough to can Bonehead.

The fake conservatives will be smoked out on this vote.
We shall soon see who these grandstanding, fake conservatives are.

And target them to be primaried!

You are correct.

Up to 29 Republicans could be *allowed* to avoid voting for Boehner. They will be allowed by the leadership based on their vulnerability to a Tea Party-type candidate next time around.

“I think 20 or so Republicans will look good (some of them moles doing it for show) and not support Boehner, but he will win anyway.”

Boehner will win with Rat votes. Why wouldn’t they vote for a house speaker that supports rat policies.

I’m done voting for “the lesser of two evils” when the lesser party is only slightly different... and then gives the bad guys what they want anyway.

The content of your About page suggests you are not a Democrat mole. So with that, let me ask whether under the conditions of your statement above, you agree you are effectively done voting?
(You may indeed encourage and support growth of a 3rd party on other days of the year but that is not pertinent to this issue.)

If so, how do you calculate any resulting value attributable to such a passive position on election day?

Do you think your absence will somehow slap the RNC into becoming more responsible?
