Try being a kid sitting in a summer classroom in pre-air conditioning Houston with 100% humidity and 100 degrees heat, or living in Phoenix when the grid is down and it is 110.

At least in the cold you have your wood burning, pellet burning stoves and fireplaces, and plenty of water.

You still have to go outside some time, I’m actually not looking forward to going home from work because that means walking out into the cold, sitting in a cold car, and just generally not being warm. And cold sinks into your body, which heat doesn’t. It takes a good half hour to warm up, 5 minutes tops to cool off. And you never have to shovel heat out of your driveway to go somewhere, it’ll never blowup your pipes either. Doesn’t matter how you slice it, cold sucks.

Yes...AZ taxes in Phoenix are 10% on the purchase and vehicle registration is expensive. Car Insurance is still less than Florida and home insurance is a fraction of SoFlo. Trade offs here and there... People who can deal with the humidity will love SoFlo but my wife likes desert weather of all things since moving from SoFlo.

Vehicle registration is outrageous!

A car that was $64 a year in Tx was $700 a year in Az.

It’s been snowing all day here in south west New Mexico. I really dislike it. Snow is pretty to look at up in the mountains, but not at my doorstep. If I were to move any further south, I’d be in Old Mexico.

All of these liberals moving south are bring their liberal politics with them, voting for liberals, and are trying to turn the south into the liberal hell holes they left.

BTW, I love the high desert.

Me and humidity do not mix.

Some people don’t have those things. And you forgot the snow blower. It was the happiest day of my life to sell mine when moving back to my native Texas after 7 years of Montana winters.

Get a remote starter for you car, to preheat it.

You don’t seem to have much experience with heat, in Houston you can be working and enjoying it, have plenty of energy and desire, but you have to stop at times because the heat and humidity are causing the heat to build up in your body, and you can’t sweat it off, so you have to face the frustration of involuntarily stopping, to allow your body temp to drop.

Try sleeping at night when the temperature is 95 and the humidity extraordinary, and the AC is out.

“Haven’t you heard from the eco-nuts that the cooling is caused by warming?”

If you boil water long enough, it actually freezes. And if you say it isn’t so, you’re just a denier.

Problem is these people from the liberal areas bring their voting inclinations with them.

That is why I said middle class. “A middle class person should have no problems with cold in modern America”.

I couldn’t afford all that when I lived there, but most people can, and do.

When I was sleeping in my truck, I would stop at the quick marts to fill my canteen with hot water, to keep in my ice chest, to keep my beer from freezing.

Those things make it bearable, but it is still not fun to be in pain from the stinging cold every time I step outside. Although after a cold November, December was nice with above average temps.

I think we are lower middle class and don’t have heated seats or vehicles with remote start. Since they no longer pour salt on roads, they can be icy even when clear of snow. I’m biased, have lived in MN my whole life and am liking winter less and less every year.
