Cop wounded in shootout not happy about de Blasio’s visit

One of the cops wounded in a wild Bronx shootout didn’t appreciate a hospital sympathy visit from Mayor Bill de Blasio, the wounded officer’s dad told The Post on Tuesday. The mayor accompanied NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton to St. Barnabas Hospital overnight to see wounded plainclothes officers Andrew Dossi, 30, and Aliro Pellarano, 38.

“He wasn’t too happy about the mayor’s visit,” Dossi’s dad, Joe, told The Post at the family’s home in Rockland County.

“He (Dossi) deals with some crappy people every day and getting no support (from the mayor), come on. These are the guys in the trenches dealing with anything and everything.” …

Should be able to tell the nurses at the nursing station that there would be no “official” guests allowed.

The patient has the power here.

Someone should grab that Deblasio and perp walking him right out of there, the boot treatment at the end.

The mayor accompanied NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton...

They seem to be attached at the lip.

POS is digging deeper and doesn’t care who he hurts, while rehabing his reputation.

Shouldn’t leadership ask if it would be okay for a visit?

Ambushed while recovering loathsome

Fortunately De Blastio doesn’t determine where cops serve, but, if his boss favors DB then .....

I think what the cop did is disgraceful and unprofessional. Your CEO is visiting to see if you are ok. He didn’t cause the injuries.

DeBlasio may be incompetent and a one term mayor, but even if the cop didn’t want him there, it doesnt need to go to the newspapers.

The mayor’s not a “CEO” but a public servant. He is getting this blowback for hanging the city’s police force out to dry.

Nobody would kowtow to a CEO who blamed all the workers on his company’s screwup besides.

Why is De Blasio RUBBING IT IN THEIR FACES? He should just admit that the city needs cops and he was wrong...but he just cannot.

FROM THE ARTICLE:
“Dossi’s father, Joseph Dossi, holds up photos of his son outside his home in Stony Point, NY. Andrew Dossi served two tours in Iraq.”

Respectfully, the cop is not to blame, the notorious NY Post showed up at his Dad’s house, in the suburbs, and got him to talk. From experience, I can tell you the quote doesn’t even have to be accurate. If you start talking, they will either take what you say out of context, or invent something, and say it came out of your mouth. If you aren’t recording the interview, they are home free.

The father, a senior citizen, is likely not schooled in media relations, and now probably rues the fact that he opened his front door to these jackals.

Thank you.

More likely the quote is accurate.

And if it is, good for him.

Really?

Your boss speaks in broad terms about a pervasive, broken, incompetent and wholly racist profession, which you are engaged in with your brothers and sisters and you are expected to salute unequivocally?

No reservations, no objections?

I once called a boss a liar, a thief, a coconspirator and a criminal. To his face and in front of the whole office.

Two weeks later he was fired and the poor colleagues who were under his leadership and following his example left with him, also fired.

All of them black balled and for everyone’s good.

They were the first ones I ever met who didn’t find themselves in a lawsuit and under indictment.

You do not deal with men who have no integrity by any other means than to villify them and get a better leader.

Thanks for your reply. Having spent a brief time in journalism, I can say there is:

What the person says.

How the reporter interprets what was said.

How the editor rewrites the story (they call it a ‘story’ for a reason).

I was sent to interview a good friend. When the story hit the news stand, my friend was furious with me. Fortunately, I had made a photo copy, of what I had submitted.
He read it, agreed it was an accurate depiction of the account, and calmed down. The story that appeared was 30% of what I submitted, and 70% “spiced up”.

When I went to the editor, to complain, he laughed me out of his office. I quit the business, a few months later.

I have a hunch this mayor doesn't make it a habit of visiting wounded officers - more like this was for publicity and another thumb in your eye to the officers, reminding them he's the BOSS.

What do you think about deB's WIFE wearing denim BLUE JEANS to the officer's FUNERAL? Was that showing respect?
