TL:DR The taxes are too high, and the liberals in the NJ congress won't lower them.

Whatever happened to Chris Christie, the much ballyhooed governor, who was to make New Jersey a more conservative state and use it as a springboard to the presidency?

Was that Chris Christie I saw a couple days back, yukking it up with Jerry Jones at the big game?

NJ is a terrible place for business.

Atlanta is the nearest major city (serious international airport) to their main U.S. manufacturing operations in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Atlanta being a major car town, lots of M-Bs on the road, probably didn’t hurt.

I think some executive from a moving haul company called into Rush (?) and disclosed that people are moving from NJ more than ANY OTHER STATE.

Know what?

I hope NY and NJ end up like freaking CUBA...!

Another big plus is they got tons of illegals in Georgia who are happy to work for less$

Eventually they’ll replace most all U.S. workers.

They are your replacements....

Believe it or not but New Jersey as late as 1973 had no sales tax and no state income tax, great roads, low property taxes and a wide industrial base. Today its decay is a testament to what happens when Democrats have power for prolonged periods.

New Jersey instituted a sales tax during the governorship of Richard Hughes in the mid-Sixties.

Georgia is a big time carpet manufacturing mecca too...The illegals took that over big time...The corp owners love it.

Besides taxes, the other big plus is plenty of illegals in GA who’ll work for less and are...

They are middle class America’s replacements.

They are the folks who will do the jobs Americans won’t do . . . . for $2.75 per hour. There is an endless supply of them and BO and the RINO’s are determined to bring every one of them into the country. And, we get to pay for their healthcare and education.

They are the folks who will do the jobs Americans won’t do.

Who was doing all the work prior to the endless flood of low wage illegals...It was American's who were paid more.

Check out the construction industry at all levels. It's run by some of the most corrupt individuals known to man kind. Illegals fit their bill nicely. Of course they put tens of hundreds of thousand of Americans out of jobs. But they work cheap...Warehousing, manufacturing, service industry....You name it.

BTW, I agree, they are America's replacements and it's been going on for several decades now....

Can’t speculate as to why Mercedes-Benz USA is choosing to move from Montvale, NJ to Atlanta. However, going back about 25 years, UPS with their corporate headquarters in Greenwich, CT ... not far from Montvale, NJ, moved to Atlanta. Primary reason, UPS in their development plan for training promising young executives advancing thru the ranks required a few years at corporate headquarters in Greenwich. Problem ... young executives couldn’t afford anything close to Greenwich ... meaning long commutes. This became an issue when many promising executives declined the promotion to corporate, electing to stay in place, or decided to leave the company.
