Four people were shot, three critically, during an attempted robbery at a gun store in a Kansas City, Missouri, suburb on Friday afternoon, authorities said.
An owner of She's A Pistol LLC gun store in Shawnee, Kansas, was critically wounded as were two of four people suspected of trying to rob the store, Major Dan Tennis of the Shawnee Police Department told a news conference.
Tennis said a female store owner was punched and injured in the incident. Two other suspects were able to flee the store, one of whom was also wounded, but surrendered to authorities at a house nearby, he said.
"There was a big gun battle, lots of shots fired," Tennis said.

I was taking karate lessons at an urban dojo when I was a very young man. A thug with a knife walked in and demanded money. Three degrees of stupid. First, there is absolutely no money in a karate dojo, two, there are three or four black belts feeling pretty proprietary about the place and, three, a knife? Really?
The cops came and got a bloodied former thug. Object lesson of great value occurred.

That’s an illogical statute. One should always shoot to kill. What, you are supposed to shoot to wound in Kansas?
Shawnee police said in a news release that John Bieker, 44, died after the shooting at the Shawnee store called She’s a Pistol, which caters to female gun owners. Wow, the Kansas government actually gave their citizens permission to protect themselves from being killed. How nice of them.
