An accountant at a New York ad firm leaped to his death because he was hallucinating that the mannequins at his Manhattan office were chasing him, it was claimed today. David Caquais, 43, opened at window at Catch NY on the fourth floor of a building in Manhattan's Garment District and jumped out about 9pm on January 2. The New York Post reports that Mr Caquais screamed 'They're after me! They're after me!' as he ran around his office and attempted to kick out windows.

There is such a thing as a timed-release shower head, but we figure they’d “accidentally” break it the first day. Can you really get a 10-gallon shutoff thingie? And how would that affect the dishwasher?

My nifty quirks include getting up at 5:00 a.m. and doing dishes.

Well, if not there’s another business opportunity. I know there are at least pressure-triggered valves because that’s how the toilets work in buildings.

In reality you don’t want to shut off the heater, just stop the flow from the heater. That way there’s hot water when you re-enable the flow. We have to remember to put in a bypass for when the dishwasher or washing machine are run.

This is a tangent, but I actually want in-line heaters one day so I don’t have to keep a tank warm when nobody needs hot water.

I agree.

We don't want to shut off the heater, in our current conditions. It would be nice if we could just stop the hot water from the shower, while leaving cold running so that the teen could finish rinsing his/her hair.

I have toyed with the idea of a "Heartbreaker" service for a while.

For the modest price of $50.00 we will contact your no longer significant other and tell them the relationship is over. For another $50.00 you can get the deluxe package where we will bring either beer or ice cream and spend 30 minutes with them listening to them trash you. Shoulder pats and "there theres" and "what a beast!" or "that tramp!" included at no charge.

I read about that in the “Wall Street Journal,” iirc, years ago. “Relationship Terminator” was the business, which originated in Germany but was branching out to other EU nations.

Sending a text message was the cheapest service. Paper mail was more, personal visit additional, add-ons included moving your stuff out of their abode, or theirs out of yours.

I thought it was the sort of business Anoreth and I could go into. I could do the hand-patting, and she’d keep me from getting killed. But now that she wants to be an automotive engineer, I guess I’ll have to use James for security. He’s going to be really large in another 5 years.

Mannequins need their taxes done too.

Now there's an avenue for revenue enhancement we haven't explored yet...

Well, you could always cut in behind the shower and install an access door so you can just cut off that flow. You might also have to cut into the pipe and install a valve. None of that is really hard. I can even do it and the people at Home Depot cringe when I come to their handyman classes.

I think the heartbreaker service is a great idea. You should also charge extra to sit through a viewing of either “You’ve Got Mail” or “The Dirty Dozen” depending.

The access to the cutoff would have to be from the girls’ bedroom!

Certainly they wouldn’t mind shutting the water off on the boys.

Keep your head up! Do you have plenty of bread and milk? What’s a blizzard without milk sandwiches, as the say here in NC.
