Penn State's football team is getting back 112 wins wiped out during the Jerry Sandusky child molestation scandal and the late Joe Paterno has been restored as the winningest coach in major college football history. The NCAA announced the new settlement with the school weeks before a scheduled trial on the legality of the 2012 consent decree it will replace.

Bingo. Sandusky wasn’t exactly stealing pens from the supply closet or sending suggestive emails to the female cheerleaders...
Spainer is still alive, free and is basking in the fact that the Penn State Football program took the hit and nobody is even talking about the homo-friendly atmosphere which he built at PSU that made most of it possible.
Congratulations for taking the bait,
“The Paterno firing was handled as if it was an afterthought, to blow Spainer off the front page and deflect any blame on the homo friendly atmosphere which Spainer so carefully constructed and which kept Sandusky on campus for nearly an additional decade after he retired.”
Congratulations for swallowing the bait as most of the JoePa sheeple have done.

Worst poster on FR bar NONE. Get lost loser.
People can argue until the cows come home, but one thing is for certain...Joe is still in the same place he wound up after drawing his last breath, and NOTHING the NCAA does is going to change that.
” on the homo friendly atmosphere which Spainer so carefully constructed and which kept Sandusky on campus for nearly an additional decade after he retired.”
All with the knowledge and consent of JoePa.
Expressed regret? Oh, that’s right, like other accessories express “regret” in court to enabling dozens if not HUNDREDS of felonies against children. “I knew my husband was raping children, I’m very sorry about that,” puts that genie right back into the bottle now doesn’t it...
Got it.
Easy. You apply the same logic in sports that regularly gets applied in politics and statecraft and you can claim anything you want. Oceans are rising and polar bears are dying and games that happened before suddenly never happened that way at all... until they did once again... all by administrative fiat.
So we can mark you down on the side supporting pedophiles.
At least you admit it.
Really - nothing better to do than spend gobs of money on lawyers for this? Sheesh...
yeah....same thing happened in ancient rome, too.
keep em distracted with sports.....while rome burns....
The NCAA had no business in the PSU situation because it had nothing to do with athletic competitiveness. It was nothing but a grandstanding play on the NCAA’s part.
People look at me funny or ask if I am crazy since I don’t follow the false religion of 24/7 sports and sports hero worship.
No, you’re the brown nosed butt muncher on FR. Well documented. Shaddup.
I think that's correct. Doping is like running out of a lane in track. You should get DQ'd. No "win".
OTOH, I don't see why Paterno was striped of victories. His total morale failure as a human being who wouldn't defend of Children from Rape is a separate matter from whether or not he somehow cheated in getting the football wins. Yes tear down the statute and take his name off buildings. But unless the awful man somehow cheated at the football wins, the stats should stand.
“The NCAA had no business in the PSU situation because it had nothing to do with athletic competitiveness. It was nothing but a grandstanding play on the NCAAs part.”
That’s actually a black box. How deep does this pederasty ring go? How many other colleges are involved? If NCAA doesn’t send a clear message and do its own digging, this could continue in other locales and now they’re on the hook if they turn a blind eye themselves.
“”Gosh, I discussed the Sandusky Child Rape thing with someone last month, but here’s Sandusky today with another kid in the locker room”. Oh well. Tough luck kid”
- Joe Paterno’s thought process (repeated for a half dozen years)”
Perfect summarization. Thank you.
An error in judgement is slowing but not stopping for a stop sign. Circling the block to do it again repeatedly is a pattern of behavior. Ole Joe knew what Sandusky was doing and he allowed him to continue to be around kids under his watch. At the least he should have removed him from any contact with the program.
Paul Finebaum (sec bootlicker) just now:
“The truth is finally coming out, and it’s not the same truth we were told on the day Mark Emmert stood before everyone and grandstanded against Penn State and Joe Paterno.”
