Barack Obama enters the final two years of his presidency with a blemish on his legacy that looks impossible to erase: the decline of the middle class he has promised to rescue.
The revival of middle-class jobs has been one of Obama's mantras since he took office in 2009 fighting the worst economic crisis in generations. It was a major theme of his last State of the Union address and is expected to feature in the one scheduled for Tuesday.
Administration officials said on Saturday the president would propose higher capital gains taxes, new fees on large financial firms, and other measures to raise $320 billion for programs and tax breaks aimed at the middle class.
Obama's administration can take credit for stabilizing the U.S. economy, which is growing again and last year added jobs at the fastest clip since 1999.
But for the middle class the scars of the recession still run deep. Federal Reserve survey data show families in the middle fifth of the income scale now earn less and their net worth is lower than when Obama took office.
In the six years through 2013, over the recession and recovery that have spanned Obama's tenure, jobs have been added at the top and bottom of the wage scale, a Reuters analysis of labor statistics shows. In the middle, the economy has shed positions - whether in traditional trades like machining or electrical work, white-collar jobs in human resources, or technical ones like computer operators.
The trend is in plain sight in Dalton, Georgia, a manufacturing hub 90 miles (145 km)north of Atlanta. Massive factories that made it "the carpet capital of the world," were slammed by the collapse of the housing bubble.

The children of the Middle Class have not been able to get jobs after graduating from college, so the economy will not recover. This is the group that gets married, buys a home, starts a family, and begins climbing the income ladder. With 25% of graduates unemployed or under employed, this growth has been crippled and the time lost for these earners is irreplaceable.

The sole interest Obama has in the middle class is the reduction of economic opportunity so as to addict them to his government programs. In essence, the creation of another dependency class more likely to vote Democrat.
That is exactly what Pelosi and company were expecting. The idiots are evil but stupid. They did not see the epic backlash against FrankensteinCare. Their M.O. is to give "fee" stuff and dare the Repubs to take it away.
Moreover, they were expecting that every election after the bill was passed to carry the narrative "Dems want to 'give' you more healthcare and Repubs want to take it away".

Sometimes, I used to wonder if Obama really was going that far (Cloward-Piven). I began to think it was simply too conspiratorial, even for him.
But as the years went by, it became obvious that he was engaging in that evil and Communist strategy.
I was listening to an economist who is a born-again Christian on a radio program. He knew his stuff cold, and was well connected. The host asked him why Obama was doing such and such, and he sighed, and said that the Obama implementation of Cloward-Piven was in fact a reality.
The only goal the Obama administration has for the middle class is to get them on the government teat, for example, Obamacare.
They want the middle class dependent on the government.

My salary at that time was $40,000. Would the same job today be $600,000? I think not.

I suppose the EPA, Obamacare, and the thousands of regulations, welfare, etc. have seen to it that it won’t happen. And just think...our “public servants” are trying to raise the gas taxes “for the roads”. What has happened to all the money they already collected for the roads?
Our government’s handling of our money would get them thrown in prison or at least fired if they were not “public servants”.
Not much doubt Hussein wrote it and endorse it, which the book ‘blurb’ stayed that way for at least 16 years.
I wonder how many middle class kids did vote for Obama.
There were a TON of upper middle class, middle class, white kids at those Obama rallies and MANY of them were college students.
