President Obama, who took office six years ago amid a historic recession and two U.S. wars, declared unequivocally Tuesday that the nation had clawed its way out of those dire straits, praising Americans for their resilience but also pointedly taking credit for leading the way.
“America, for all that we’ve endured; for all the grit and hard work required to come back; for all the tasks that lie ahead, know this: The shadow of crisis has passed,” Obama said in his sixth State of the Union address to the nation and a joint session of Congress in the House chamber.
After years of fighting with Republicans over where to take the country, Obama delivered an hour-long defense of his policies that at times sounded like a victory lap. He asserted that the brightening economic picture — including accelerating job growth, more people with health insurance and lower gas prices — had proved that he was right, and his adversaries misguided, all along.
The president had been cautious over the past two years not to gloat over news of fitful economic growth, mindful that the economy remained tenuous and public confidence uneasy. But with the jobless rate well below 6 percent, the stock market nearing record highs and his job-approval ratings rebounding, Obama on Tuesday night dropped his veneer of reserve and appeared to delight in having proved his critics wrong.

crisis has passed ,how else could Obama get such a great Xmas vacation ,did he call it a Xmas vacation ?
It took 6 years to reach a semi recovery. Reagan did it in less than a year.The start of his economic program was on Oct 1,1981, and it was starting to work by May 1, 1982.
And new bubbles are underway to start the whole mess over again. Lax mortgage qualifications (again), student loans, and more. BUST is coming again, but probably not on his watch.
It’s not even a recovery. They’re lying about the unemployment rate, not counting those people who have stopped looking for work.
We’ve got more people on welfare than we’ve ever had before, with a sizable portion of them being useless fairly able-bodied layabouts who are scamming disability pay from the taxpayer by claiming sadbrains (OCD, PTSD, bi-polar, etc.).
Recovery my 48-year-old a$$. As soon as I get 1 full time job instead of 2 part time jobs, I’ll declare that we have some sort of recovery going on.
Now anything bad that happens to the economy after this point is not his fault, I suppose?
New verb: (to) obamanize — to entertain fantasies colored by delusions of grandeur; to take credit for vast changes while denying the reality that nothing has changed, at least not for the better. Example: The Resident obamanized repeatedly during last night’s State of the Union address, claiming to have cured cancer, imposed world peace, and solved the problem of soggy pizza crust, all during his disastrous second term as tenant of the White House.
What is he on?

I never heard him talk about where he was going to get the billions to fund his free stuff. Oh, that’s the middle class economy stuff where he taxes the middle class to death and tells them that’s progress.
There is no recovery. It is all a lie. And all the wars are still raging. They expanded the debt by trillions to inflate stock prices. They falsely report artificially lower unemployment numbers. Marines are being called back to active duty now as even more wars begin.
Obama is going for the 3rd Term—his clone will serve (think Hillary) who will pardon him for his many acts. This can’t end well.
