At a time when many potential 2016 presidential contenders appear to be starting the ignition of their campaigns, Hillary Clinton has pressed the brake pedal.
Or so it seems.
Clinton’s calendar, which was jam-packed throughout most of last year with paid speeches, award ceremonies, fundraisers, book tour stops, campaign appearances and official Clinton Foundation business, is now virtually empty. Or so it seems.
Clinton’s calendar, which was jam-packed throughout most of last year with paid speeches, award ceremonies, fundraisers, book tour stops, campaign appearances and official Clinton Foundation business, is now virtually empty. (SNIP) A Clinton spokesman declined to comment on reasons for her light public schedule. But, according to Democratic strategists and Clinton insiders, this is exactly how it should be.

Playing It Safe
After a rocky book rollout last summer and a few flubs on the midterm campaign trail, some see Clinton as politically rusty. Keeping out of the spotlight now lowers the chances of making mistakes that could come back to haunt her later.

Your thoughts on new persona are right on. But how are they going to un-pickle her fading brain? I think it’s going to be fun to watch the Hillary version 3.0 come undone when somebody throws a bucket of water on her. Or a coherent question about Benghazi. If she runs, she will find out what difference Benghazi makes.
Do you realize that if you change just ONE word in that, you can force a mental picture that will sicken MILLIONS?
They’ll have to pull Hitlery’s face tighter than a snare drum. The eyes will migrate halfway to the ears & move independently.
It will take “Operation Vacu-Suck” by the Spaceballs Mega Maid to shlurp out all that butt baggage.
Hillary wants to kick off her campaign with “Look! I’m wearing my daughter’s clothes!”
I hope you’re wrong about that. Seems to me the 2014 election may have put the sexist war on women meme to rest. let’s hope the racist thing follows it into the grave.

Not defending Hillary here, just giving my opinion as to what she’s up to: I believe Hillary’s not appearing in public right now because she doesn’t have to. She doesn’t have a problem with name recognition, so she can afford to lay low for a few months. The media has already declared her to be the Democratic nominee. Every time Hillary appears in public, she runs the risk of saying something dumb that will draw unfavorable attention to her (”we were dead broke when we left the White House.”) Since she is technically a private citizen right now, there’s no need to speak out on any of the issues, so she won’t. If Elizabeth Warren, Joe Biden, or some other serious Democrat announces their candidacy, then Hillary will be forced out into the open to try to blunt their candidacy. Until then, I doubt if we will be hearing much from her.

All of the Hillary supporters quoted in this article have been proven wrong about Hillary’s reasons for not wanting to appear in public until she announces her presidential candidacy — because she has just announced in a CNN interview that she will speak in public soon to testify before the House Committee investigating Benghazi.
So Donna Brazile and her fellow Hillary promoters now look even more foolish than they usually do.
