Longview police have released a video of an officer-involved shooting in which a teenager was killed. Longview Police Department Chief Don Dingler addressed the incident during a conference Wednesday before the department aired the video.

Well, if that is the case, and the investigation proves that to be true, then he will have to answer to that.
He isn’t going to be charged with murder or any other violation related to her shooting, however.
Maybe not criminally charged...
But the fact remains, if basic common sense procedures were followed, this would have never escalated or resulted in her death.
That young lady would be alive today.
I certainly do not have any explanation as to why she was not arrested or otherwise secured.
I would have that man explain that to me for sure.

I didn't see her do anything criminal till AFTER she got used as a speedbag and a dustmop.
She was criminally assaulted by Dough Boy Number One.
There is no explanation of the utter incompetence exhibited in the video. The cop failed big time. This should have been a real simple arrest.
The ding is dead because he failed to follow basic procedure, which should have been routinely done to ensure the safety of *both* the cop and the suspect.
She lunged at the guy who was much farther away, totally ignoring as a target the guy who was right next to her.
That doesn't make any sense.
She should have been handcuff way before any of that occurred.
Agree, bizarre video...Bizarre behavior all around.
She entered a police station with a weapon, and it was not an accident.

MAYBE (and this is what I think happened) he offered to give the young lady a ride home and she refused.
Then he told her he would have to search her for drugs (threatening her with arrest if she didn't just go with him).
He chased her down, pinned her on the bench, and searched her purse. Then he let her up. He probably offered again to give her a ride, and she refused and tried to escape. He catches her, then after a few seconds, slams her to the ground again.
The other on duty cops come out, and he tells them she attacked him. She gets up and tries to tell them what happened (and what a creep he is) and he says she is lying.
That's when she charges him with the knife.
She gets shot, no audio for us to hear, and no one is the wiser (at least of the general public).
I would agree with that.
I’m not a cop, but for the sake of discussion if I was, I would have certainly cuffed her and then searched her.
A cop can detain a person and cuff them while they investigate without actually making an arrest, so I would think that should have been done.

Instead she lost her life.
Re-watching it - she’s completely at his mercy, then he gets up, and pulls his piece out to brandish at her.
I have to look at it a little bit more. :)
