Scott Walker, the buzziest GOP contender in America right now, supports a path to citizenship not just for DREAMers but for adult illegals too.

If this is accurate and represents his true beliefs regarding the millions of illegal aliens here from around the world, then he is dead to me politically (as would be ANY other politician with similar politically correct views.

Of course, he may have been quoted out of context.

Seems that some people will only support candidates who call for immediate deportation for all illegals.

Problem is, there are no candidates who have taken that stance (please correct me if I am wrong).

IMHO Walker is the best option for 2016.

He lives within the bounds of reality - I’ll vote for him despite his not being as strong as I would like on the topic. Others will use his thoughts as a singular reason to not vote for him despite everything else he brings to the table - I call them, “Those who bitch but will not be satisfied until the Left actually destroys the Nation”

I once heard that some FReeper misunderstood something Scott Walker once said, and instead of trying to find out if it was true, he just went and surfed websites that repeated the same assertion. That’s why no Real Conservative and True Patriot will EVER support Scott Walker for President. All True Patriots think Scott Walker is a Commie.

Do you remember the people who circulated endlessly wrong diatribes about Sarah Palin's views on amnesty? The ones who convinced many in the forum she was for amnesty. There are multiple posters here today that will still say she is for amnesty in spite of all evidence to the contrary.

Well, you're about to facilitate those people that will now take a sentence or two and make it Walker's definitive stance on immigration, in spite of the fact that he has no definitive stance on immigration. If he becomes a candidate he will have to address it, but this thread will bring out lots of people that will exaggerate, and lie to show something that does not exist.

Knowing you as a poster from the Palin wars, it's likely you are trying to discover the truth, but all you are going to do is facilitate FR's circular firing squad. Best of luck, this will become a long thread, and the left will love it.

Our best hope for getting a real change in this country is a ticket of Walker and Cruz (who knows who should be on top of this ticket), and unfortunately the circular squad will do its best to destroy it all.

Okay, I don’t know what Walker believes on every issue but I do know that he has been under tremendous pressure in his governorship from day one. What he accomplished going after the unions and improving the economy took great effort. Anything that detracts from the tasks at hand creates new controversies that works to take the eye off the ball. What did the people of Wisc. want? A Governor that accomplishes what he campaigned on or one that runs around creating messes by commenting on things not on the agenda, thereby giving the media and his opponents something to rail on day after day after day? Sometimes, not saying anything or saying very little is the smart thing to do.

I reserve my judgement on Walker. He isn’t running for president yet as is no one else. If he does run, I’ll let him make his case. Way too early to assume things just because he isn’t my favorite candidate.

Rick Perry might end up being the guy.

That’s the way this is looking.

He has the Chamber of Commerce position on amnesty.

He believes if they want to come here and work they can have amnesty.

They do not have to assimilate. They don’t have to give up feeling Mexico is their home country. They can have amnesty and just work and send the money back to family in their home country.

He believes merely wanting to work here, and send resources back, is enough to get amnesty.

ANd he is wrong. This said from a guy who went to college with him, and voted for him multiple times as County Exec and Governor.
