Philippines mourns police killed in anti-terror bloodbath [44 Cops Ambushed]

A long, slow procession of coffins draped in the Philippine flag poured out of military transport planes in Manila on Thursday, as the country mourned dozens of policemen killed in a botched anti-terror operation.

Marching to muted drums, uniformed commandos bore the numbered coffins of comrades brought home from the southern island of Mindanao, the scene of the worst loss of life by the country's police or troops in recent memory.

President Benigno Aquino has declared Friday a day of mourning for the 44 men slaughtered in a cornfield Sunday when their top-secret mission -- to catch or kill one of the world's most wanted Islamist militants -- went badly wrong.

(snip)

Almost 400 police commandos had swooped before dawn in the operation to hunt down Zulkifli bin Hir alias Marwan, a top suspect in the 2002 Bali bombings and one of the United States' most wanted militants, with a $5 million bounty for his capture.

But after killing a person they thought to be Zulkifli, the commandos came under devastating ambushes by at least two large guerrilla groups.

This was a major malfunction in the Philippine military/National Police ,, Cotabato has been hot for a long time now... and for 40 years the Philippine military has been pretending to deal with Islamic terrorists/MILF while their local commanders collect bribes to leave them alone..

Their solution is to bring in the “best” soldiers they have ,, which in most countries means from their capitol city ,, unfortunately these men were well schooled in collecting traffic ticket bribes and bribes for not shutting down unlicensed food vendors NOT fighting a hot action.

They should have sent 1 man with a rifle.

This attack was inspired because of the existence of Israel and its policies.

I thought it was a few bad apples that hijacked a peaceful religion.

-——traffic ticket bribes-——

While speeding through a village one day on my way to Manila, I heard the shrill whistle of the local cop and saw him in the road waving his arms to come back

I did so, because it was bad form for an American to disregard a cop. In the discussion he told me that i needed to return and appear before the court. He said you are guilty and unless you bring 20 lawyers, the judge will find you guilty.

I gave him 20 pesos and went on my way chastened

Whoever gave the order for those police to rush into armed enemy territory instead of sending the military should lose their job if they haven’t already lost their life.

Mindanao doesn’t have any problems that couldn’t be solved by a few neutron bombs. Islam is a cancer, and you fight cancer using chemotherapy and radiation.

That would wipe out the Maria Christina Falls hydro plant and put my home in a permanent brownout... Cotabato is the only area in Mindanao that needs to be cleaned up... Davao is peaceful although it’s 10%+ Muslim... Cleaning up Cotabato would send a strong message... MILF back in the 80’s got as far (east and north in Mindanao) as my wifes family farm in Agusan del Sur... there was a firefight on that farm and my wife lost a prized Buffalo...

The PNP were sent in because the military is corrupt and unwilling to give up their generals favorite meal ticket , bribes from MILF... I would have first send in assassins to kill the military leaders,,, I would bet my last dollar that they tipped off MILF leading to this massacre.

Sounds like an Obama rat infestation.

September 2014 our Marines were sent there for jungle warfare training.
