The Romney Statement: Not Running. "I’ve decided it is best to give other leaders in the Party...."

I’ve been emailed this text of remarks Mitt Romney will be making to his supporters shortly:

Let me begin by letting you know who else is on this call, besides Ann and me. There are a large number of people who signed on to be leaders of our 2016 finance effort. In addition, state political leadership from several of the early primary states are on the line. And here in New York City, and on the phone, are people who have been helping me think through how to build a new team, as well as supporters from the past who have all been kind enough to volunteer their time during this deliberation stage. Welcome, and thank you. Your loyalty and friendship, and your desire to see the country with new, competent and conservative leadership warms my heart.

After putting considerable thought into making another run for president, I’ve decided it is best to give other leaders in the Party the opportunity to become our next nominee.

I suspect the issue is that many Mexicans are not born in hospitals and may not have a birth certificate. Before they can start any legal process, first they need a birth certificate.

Please note that this process assumes that the applicant DOES NOT ALREADY LIVE HERE. Emperor 0bama has decreed that illegal aliens trespassing on our land can obtain “LEGAL STATUS” by obtaining a green card and thereby collect all manner of welfare benefits. How ‘The Won’ gets away with this lawlessness is beyond comprehension. At any rate, how is it Gov. Walker’s fault that all those trespassers are in WI clamoring for their share of 0bama’s stash? He is just trying to handle his part of the crisis.

Walker is for LEGAL immigration, NOT AMNESTY. If you can find a source for this “LEGAL STATUS” of 0bama’s, please cite it here. The only one I can find that comes close is this one:

I do agree the statement is broad and I too want to pin him down on fleshing out the details on dealing with the trespassers. Don’t dismiss him as a candidate we can support. We will hear more from him on this as the campaign proceeds. Will you keep an open mind?

While I agree, I am dismayed to see the campaigning start so early... It is stated that it now takes a $billion to run for president... what is the chance for a populist under those circumstances? ...could happen, but...? I am neither for or against Ben Carson running, but frankly under the above circumstance: he ain't got a prayer!
