Joe Biden: A Plan for Central America
New York Times ^ | JAN. 29, 2015 | JOSEPH R. BIDEN Jr.

Posted on 01/31/2015 11:31:18 AM PST by MeshugeMikey

AS we were reminded last summer when thousands of unaccompanied children showed up on our southwestern border, the security and prosperity of Central America are inextricably linked with our own.

The economies of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras remain bogged down as the rest of the Americas surge forward. Inadequate education, institutional corruption, rampant crime and a lack of investment are holding these countries back. Six million young Central Americans are to enter the labor force in the next decade. If opportunity isn’t there for them, the entire Western Hemisphere will feel the consequences.

Speaking in terms of Honduras ONLY, my brother-in-law, who is from Honduras is currently a successful Oncologist and NATURALIZED CITIZEN (disclaimer necessary for obvious reasons) here in S.E. Michigan.

Honduras has gone thru many years of tumultuous political problems which were eventually stabilized since the mid 1990's.......

Unfortunately, Honduras and all of Central America has been taken over by the drug cartels....

The only solution is martial law and the necessary total eradication of everyone and anyone known to be involved in the drug trafficking......

Wipe out the cartels and the drugs and their economies will begin to flourish.......

I had heard rumors of that being the case. The cartels have apparently rearranged society .

Joey Plugs has at least identified a real problem. Give him that much credit. It's his solution that is going to be unpalatable to Americans.

The Central American 'Banana' Republics are in a phase of their so-called development during which extremely minimal improvements in sanitation and medical care are resulting in population bombs. The Democrats are merely trying to figure out how to get more of them here and registered. There is no reason why these countries cannot at least feed themselves and develop sustainable economies and keep their quaint and colorful natives at home.

My solution: Let Spain economically re-colonize them and start investing in their basic infrastructure, withn our help. They have the unemployed talent to handle it now. The Marxist Solution, as demonstrated in Cuba, will only cause havoc.

Example: When Castro took over, Cuba had a very healthy economy, was exporting food, had a good infrastructure, with modern utilities and transportation, a very big middle class, No one was starving. Not even the poor, and all things considered, a decent enough government by Latin American standards. After all, it was the Cuban government free and independent judiciary of the 1950s that ACQUITTED Castro. When was the last time HIS government acquitted anyone.

Team Obama's rapprochement with Cuba under the Castros is like becoming friends with Hitler. Except that Hitler did not personally execute political prisoners, as have Fidel, Raúl, and especially the Left Wing Culture-Hero, Che Guevara. (The International Left's, (e.g.Penn and Spielberg) slavish adulation aside.)

BTW, Fidel especially, has made no secret of the fact that he considers Reggie's Boyfriend a Flaming Anus, and none too bright besides. God only knows what he thinks of Joey Plugs.

And generous welfare makes it possible for many Americans to disdain work. After a while, the immigrants will do the same.

How is Mexico not included in the description of “El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras”???

Mexico is in "North America"; funny, how TV and movies have us thinking otherwise. :-\

Funny how Mexico is emblematic of the following

The economies of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras remain bogged down as the rest of the Americas surge forward. Inadequate education, institutional corruption, rampant crime and a lack of investment are holding these countries back. Six million young Central Americans are to enter the labor force in the next decade. If opportunity isn’t there for them, the entire Western Hemisphere will feel the consequences.

The democrat planning commission thought of everything didnt they, and an evil toxic President and a dangerously loopy V.P.

When Bela Pelosi was speaker of the house they had what one could call a tri-infecta!

Mrs. Bidens little Joey could start world wars 3... 4 and five simultaneously, if he assumed the :”seat of power;
