He referred to another student as “Black”? Not enough information...in what context did he say the word. Was it insulting? Or just an innocent statement of fact. We don’t know.
The ring thing threat that caused him to be suspended is just silly, no common sense used.
A book that contained information in it about pregnancy while the book’s theme generally was scientific info for kids, is not a disciplinary issue. It could be dealt with based on criteria that needs to be specific, if something is deemed inappropriate to have at school.
Makes one wonder, if there is a personal issue that a teacher or administrator is allowing to influence their judgment re: this particular student.
Without knowing more, we can’t realistically presume what their motivation is, whether it is conservative or liberal or personal or what.
It could be anything.
Kermit is where two nurses were indicted a few years ago for reporting an incompetent doctor. The DA and the Sheriff went to jail for that one.
West Texas is full of corrupt little towns.
