China’s Secret Strategy Exposed Beijing Plots to Surpass U.S. in Coming Decades

China launched a secret 100-year modernization program that deceived successive U.S. administrations into unknowingly promoting Beijing’s strategy of replacing the U.S.-led world order with a Chinese communist-dominated economic and political system, according to a new book by a longtime Pentagon China specialist.

For more than four decades, Chinese leaders lulled presidents, cabinet secretaries, and other government analysts and policymakers into falsely assessing China as a benign power deserving of U.S. support, says Michael Pillsbury, the Mandarin-speaking analyst who has worked on China policy and intelligence issues for every U.S. administration since Richard Nixon.

The secret strategy, based on ancient Chinese statecraft, produced a large-scale transfer of cash, technology, and expertise that bolstered military and Communist Party “superhawks” in China who are now taking steps to catch up to and ultimately surpass the United States, Pillsbury concludes in a book published this week.

The Chinese strategic deception program was launched by Mao Zedong in 1955 and put forth the widespread misbelief that China is a poor, backward, inward-looking country. “And therefore the United States has to help them, and give away things to them, to make sure they stay friendly,” Pillsbury said in an interview. “This is totally wrong.”

China is a flash in the pan economically and will fade over the next 30 years, it’s demographics are problematic going forward.

Get ready for another century of American dominance and ignore this foolishness.

Your first assumption is that China (which has variously risen and fallen and risen and fallen) will not rise to the position it normally has been in over millennia, which is the most powerful economic and political entity in the world. (The Roman Empire would have made a nice province in China)

Your second assumption is that all the various minorities (Mexicans, Muslims, etc) will assimilate and become Americans and not keep their 3rd world cultural values, even as they eventually eclipse the white population (the source of traditional American values)

Your third assumption is that the current white culture possesses enough discipline and vigor to match the discipline and vigor of previous generations (such as WWII generation) such as to keep America dominant, let alone even remain a viable political entity in the future.

Heard Pillsbury on the Laura Ingraham show this morning. He said that the so called Nixon-Kissinger “opening of China” was actually initiated by China as part of their strategy to gain access to US know how and technology. And that China asked Nixon to come to China four or five times before Nixon finally decided to go. Declassified and perhaps leaked documents confirm this according to Pillsbury.

Always thought Nixon’s “opening of China” was a monumental mistake as long as they remained a communist nation, and all the dealings we’ve had with them since. We’ve enabled and enriched China to our long term detriment.

I’ve been following China pretty closely and have to agree with this.

That being said, when they do implode (and the other 800 billion Chinese are scratching their heads at this very moment asking where their cut is), we’re going to have to stay well out of the blast radius or contain it in some way.

Their “ghost” cities are a perfect example of top-down Stalinist “brag-building” which cost the USSR dearly in the end.

It was the only mistake Nixon made that was worse than Watergate.

And then Bill Clinton opened up the floodgates so his friends at Walmart could profit while the American working class was destroyed.

They’ll try, but trying to feed, clothe and shelter 20% of Earth’s population and dealing with horrible air and water pollution problems will be China’s downfall as China’s coffers are drained trying to deal with these issues long term.

I _LOVE_ 100-year plans. The Chicoms should spend at least $100 billion a year on this one, and do so on more and more such plans. I modestly offer myself as a consultant.

This is pure crap - “100 year modernization plan by Mao”.

Sure Mao had planned all along to make China a capitalist powerhouse.

Oh boy. Our “white” population is an amalgamation of many different European cultures which were as diverse and opposite to one another in their values as you can imagine and knew it. If you think the Irish and Italians were welcome in this country - you should brush up on your history. Most of them practiced their own respective culture, missed their own country, while at the same time strove for citizenship because that’s what they were expected to do. None of these loosened immigration policies.

I believe most of those immigrants agreed about one thing - liberty. Well, until recently, of course.

My point is - that’s all that matters. If you’re a purple people eater you’re welcome in the U.S. as long as you get your dang citizenship and believe and practice that one simple concept - liberty.

There is a problem with assimilation right now, but that’s because nobody is being forced to get their citizenship and stay here. It’s all being played fast and loose.

t was the only mistake Nixon made that was worse than Watergate.

Actually creating the EPA was far worse than watergate. Like Bush Nixon was a stealth statist.

Of course. Mao batted his eyelids a couple of times and our stouthearted but terminally naive leaders swooned. The duplicitous oriental fiend!

Exactly, an amalgamation of different European cultures that were diverse and opposite each other, etc etc etc. Irish, Italian, Greek, German, Russian... there were so many that is was doubtful one could dominate.

There was not the preponderance of Spanish (except for perhaps German in some areas, early in our history) and the bordering of a country that spoke the same language (Spanish). It would have been quite a different thing if the US bordered Italy or Germany... irredentism comes to mind.

And the Muslims are a totally different ball of wax. They don’t need to share a border with a majority same-culture country.

The majority of WHITES don’t seem to care much for liberty anymore, either, so that ship has sailed. There now just remains only to wait for the fall.

“China is a flash in the pan economically and will fade over the next 30 years, it’s demographics are problematic going forward.”

Exactly. Another stupid story of China is “Superman.”

The Chicomms manufacture junk, and its abortion policy has doomed the country to Third World status by 2030 when the average age will be 50.

The future economic powerhouse in Asia will be India when more than half the population will by under the age of 30 by 2030. If you want to make bundles of money, invest in broadband companies servicing India,IMHO.
