I am just stumped why someone with his profile would even try to lie. Too many people can check the answers.
I am also stumped why anyone would lie about being in combat. Lie about an affair and no one cares. Its expected. Lie about combat, and people get pissed.
Holy cow. I’ll bet they are.
A common thread in his stories is the way he subtly calls himself heroic and courageous, by telling us about the hero or heroes, who are always being heroic or courageous, at the same place where he is doing what they are doing.
From war to New Orleans, and even in this story.
“At a young age, I saw the great gallantry and bravery the job of firefighting requires. In my own way, I placed firefighters above all others in society. I still do. I guess its hero worship, in its purest form.
Then he segued to his own heroism, beginning, So its not surprising that on the day I became eligible, I signed up to be a volunteer firefighter in my hometown of Middletown, N.J.”
About an hour ago, NBC released a news alert that they have a team looking into this. Roughly translated, it means that at most, Brian Williams will be taking an unscheduled two week vacation to temporarily get him out of the spotlight, OR he will go to the Betty Ford Clinic and return refreshed and renewed, OR he will end up getting the first anchorman live interview with Valerie Jarrett who really runs the Administration and whom no one knows other than that she was born in Iraq. If he can’t get an interview with Ms. Jarrett, Brian Williams will breathlessly report on the latest news developments involving the Crusades, the Inquisition, Jim Crow laws, slavery in the US, or whether Julius Caesar will cross the Rubicon, all of which are much more current and far more evil than anything ISIS has ever done or contemplated doing and which have far more relevance to our lives in the 21st Century than something so middling as lying repeatedly in presenting the news.
Mr. Frisby lives on. He now works at NBC as Chief Anchor.
I adopted two cats from a shelter and saved their lives.
I also worked as a volunteer on a suicide prevention hotline.
I don’t brag about it, I did it because it was the right thing to do., and by helping them, I helped myself even more.
I haven’t seen you much lately. How are you, sweetie?
This is the character difference between Brian Williams and George Washington.
George Washington: I cannot tell a lie.
Brian Williams: I cannot tell the truth.
Go full Swaggart, you say?
Yeah, It is worth a try.
Trust.
Integrity.
NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams.
He has been fired. Corporate speak below from NBC.
All,
This has been a difficult few days for all of us at NBC News.
Yesterday, Brian and I spoke to the Nightly News team. And this morning at the Editorial Exchange, we both addressed the wider group. Brian apologized once again, and specifically expressed how sorry he is for the impact this has had on all of you and on this proud organization.
As you would expect, we have a team dedicated to gathering the facts to help us make sense of all that has transpired. Were working on what the best next steps are and when we have something to communicate we will of course share it with you.
Since joining NBC News, Ive seen great strength and resilience. We are a close-knit family, and your response this week has made that even clearer.
As a relentless news agenda marches on, thank you again for continuing to do what we do best bring the most important stories of the day to our audience.
