How to Make Sense of an Incoherent America
pjmedia.com ^ | 2/9/2015 | Victor Davis Hanson

Posted on 02/10/2015 9:23:38 AM PST by rktman

The United States can be quite an incoherent place at times. Here are a few examples.

Diversity

Sometime in the 1990s the growing contradictions of affirmative action in a multiracial society became problematic. Ethnic ancestry was often neither easily identifiable nor readily commensurate with class status, and so gave way to a more popular term: “diversity.”

In world history, “diversity” has never been less than a problem, and often precipitated mass destruction

Here we are..

The United States of America or what the USA was has been undergoing a cultural genocide of massive proportions led by the left and they’re willing cohorts in the establishment GOP. There will be no returning to the country we once were.... Ever.

Hell, I agree with you. The damage (both parties) is done.

The high profile conservatives have been too quiet recently. I don’t get it.

Let’s hope that our conservative forces have heavy artilllary that they are saving until closer to the election, or until the targets become clearly identified.

Some of our “conservative forces” will turn out to be unfit for duty.

In one sense yes. Groups of people who refused to be unified would shortly find themselves working to the destruction of the group, as various factious pursued various selfish ends.

To use the word to indicate broad support for a unifying factor across multifarious backgrounds is different, then it has a good connotation.

Some may be saving up their powder for a particular society-rocking event. There is so much foolishness coming from the White House today that a constant critique just gets boring.

The song and dance given to undergraduates with respect to "rape" - yes, the usage deserves quotation marks - is less a case of lack of coherence as it is one of outright corruption. We now have the party line that female undergraduates are subjected to "rape" at a rate at least two orders of magnitude greater than the rest of the country's population, a ridiculous asseveration that serves none of their safety interests and all of the power interests of the liars behind the story. This is no search for truth, which used to be the principal mission of the university, but a search for ideological control.

Similarly, the other citations in the article are perfectly coherent examples of shameless corruption, of people twisting a system set up for one thing to their own personal ends, which are quite another. It is not cynicism to point these out, it is cynicism to participate in them in the first place, more cynical still to excuse the behavior under the umbrella of class disadvantage. Theft is wrong, of course, but not if you happen to be able to claim the social status of oppression. No wonder Warren and Churchill claim falsely to be Native Americans, it's worth their time.

A sufficiently strong society can tolerate quite a lot of this sort of nonsense for a very long time, but no society can tolerate it ubiquitously and forever. Using it to tear society down, as certain academics and demagogues are doing, is a tacit admission that they think the EBT payments and the retirement checks are going to continue anyway. Best of luck with that.

We should start by demanding that everything in government be in English only.

No more ‘English Learner’ education in schools. Teach them English before they start school. Want to speak gibberish at home? No problem, buy a home in your gibberish speaking third-world craphole country.

Can’t read the signs or the ballot? Tough *hit, you can’t drive or vote.

All we gain by ‘diversity’ is cities painted bright yellow, pink, and blue, with chickens running all over.

The left knows “diversity” means destruction of our culture, and that is their main goal.

If the last 50 years has taught me anything it's to question my own assumptions, especially about others, most especially about the Left. To use a line from a movie, some people just want to see the world burn. Their hatred for Western Civilization has made them insane.
