U.S. President Barack Obama singled out office supply giant Staples Inc as undercutting his healthcare reform law and said large corporations should not use the health insurance issue as an excuse for cutting wages, the news website BuzzFeed reported.
"It's one thing when you've got a mom-and-pop store who can't afford to provide paid sick leave or health insurance or minimum wage to workers
but when I hear large corporations that make billions of dollars in profits trying to blame our interest in providing health insurance as an excuse for cutting back workers wages, shame on them, Obama said in an interview with BuzzFeed.

” but when I hear large corporations that make billions of dollars in profits”
Without doing any research I am calling B.S. on this. How many retailers make over a billion in net income? I doubt if 0bama knows the difference between gross revenue and net income.
From current CNN Money story:
Staples responded that the part-time policy is more than a decade old and has nothing to do with the insurance requirements under Obamacare.
“Unfortunately, the president appears not to have all the facts,” spokesman Kirk Saville told CNNMoney.
He said the initial BuzzFeed report is misleading, and that Staples has many opportunities for hourly workers to advance into full-time and management positions.
“It’s unfortunate that the president is attacking a company that provides more than 85,000 jobs and is a major tax payer,” he said.
Staples had 46,361 full-time workers and 36,647 part-time workers, as of its most recent regulatory filing, made about a year ago. That is about the same percentage of part-time workers as in 2008, prior to the passage of the Affordable Care Act.
Staples Fires Back At Obama: The President Appears Not to Have All The Facts
...but you are responsible for all of the bad things (real or made up) that happen at the company, while I (Obama) take credit for all of the positive things that happen (job creation) at the company
He didn’t say “in one year”. That’s the liberal catch in the grammar there.
I don’t know who Staples donates to. But, if they’ve got any sense, they’ll never donate to another democrat. If they DID donate to Obama they’ve got some chickens knocking at the door, too.
Get your pen out, Barry.
Change the law again.
Make a new rule.
We know you can do it. Go on.
Is Obama the only one that knows NOTHING about Obamacare ?
Bammy, it,s because .... crusades....
Before Barry’s current gig, remind me, he was CEO of what company?
Fun to watch the scornful reaction, and naive shock that accompanied it. Here’s a hint Baarry: A good portion of what a business must do to survive is figure out how to overcome Gov’t burdens (tax, regulation, etc.) imposed on them.
Gee.. a politician from Chicago with NO EXPERIENCE and a sketchy background TALKING OUT of BOTH SIDES of HIS MOUTH. I’m just shocked! /s /s /s
The shame is that America allows such corrupt elections that an unqualified Leftist can be re-elected after ruining the economy and destroying the health care of millions. It shows we have lost our courage to defend the nation from its domestic enemies.
I haven't seen a non business owning liberal yet that does.
I can't tell the difference between Obama's diatribe against business and Maduro of Venezuela. It's all the same. Pass laws to appease the masses; then blame businesses when it is fiscally impossible to implement the law without going out of business. Rinse and repeat until you reach North Korea status.
He’s a communist. communists want all the means of production in the hands of the government. They resent it when someone earns money and the government doesn’t get it all.
Their end goal is to have all businesses run by the government.
Well done. That was funny!
Is the sarcasm tag warranted? Of course you're being sarcastic, but you'd be right if you weren't. Obamacare as law should deal with the consequences of people and their economic associations (corporations) obeying the provisions of same friggin' law.
