Pentagon loses track of weaponry sent to Yemen in recent years
Guardian ^ | 2-12-15

Chaos in Yemen has left the US military unable to monitor the vast arsenal it has spent years providing to its Yemeni counterpart.

Yemen is now functionally leaderless after Houthi rebels took over the capital of Sana’a last month, prompting the resignation of President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi. The rebels are said to control the Yemeni military’s arms depots and bases, giving them effective control of US-provided and other heavy weaponry, including tanks and artillery.

The unrest has “limited our ability to conduct routine end-use monitoring checks and inspections we would normally perform”, a US defense official told the Guardian.

US military officials would not specify which military equipment it could no longer track, but in recent years the US has sold or leased equipment including helicopters, night-vision gear, surveillance equipment, military radios and transport aircraft to Yemen.

Since 2006, the US military has provided more than $400m to Yemen, according to research estimates prepared for Congress.

Chaos in the functionally leaderless country has seen Houthi rebels reportedly take control of Yemeni military’s arms depots and bases

“Lost” (wink, wink) must be a euphemism

... just like the Marines this week,
under orders from the undocumented Islamic pRes_ _ent.

Why did Obama ship weapons, night vision equipment, armored vehicles and other military equipment into Libya after they ran us out of there? Oh, and that equipment was “stolen”.

Anybody else think that stockpiles of US arms are deliberately being “left behind” in the middle east to arm
the Brotherhood?

So now Obama wants to send more weapons into the Mideast to fight ISIS? I’m suspicious. Is it to fight ISIS or is it to protect the Saudi agenda?

Insanity: repeating the same thing over and over but expecting different results.

Obama’s agenda: Arming radical enemies, disarming citizens.

So ISIS in Iraq is using US arms. Yemen is using US arms. Syrian rebels are using US arms.

Amazing!!

Can anyone else remember a time when the US lost an embassy and no one cared?
Welcome to the newly transformed States of America, thanks to Obama. I understand now his goal of bringing the US down a notch, or perhaps the phrase is ‘off our high horse’. Like granting refugee status and allowing a massive influx of immigrants. He did say there’s plenty to go around, didn’t he? There are twice as many illegals here are there were jobs created since the manufactured crisis in 2008.
Someone needs to keep track of the damage and just how much work we will have to do to just reach where we were just a few years ago.

ISIS is in Iraq and Syria.

Iran backed rebels are in charge of Yemen.

Jordan has now been drawn into the ISIS war in a big way. Notice how strategic their location is. IF ISIS is able to overthrow Jordan, with Iran’s help, both Israel and Saudi Arabia are extremely compromised.

Saudi Arabia is now endangered on two sides. If Iran engineers a takeover of Oman, they will practically have a land bridge to Yemen, and the encirclement of Saudi Arabia will be complete.

This President allowed this.

He has dragged his feet fighting an enemy armed with Toyota pickup trucks because he WANTS this to happen—him, Valjar, Kerry, et al.

In four years, the Middle East has been transformed before our eyes, and not in a good way.

And now, pussyfooting with Iran will be the piece de resistance, the crown jewel of the strategy.

A nuclear armed Iran will dominate the Middle East.

And the resources of America are being plundered to make it so.

Absent an unexpected event in Jordan I suspect Oman is the next logical target on the road to Riyadh.
