Those parks are usually completely filled during summer time. All it’s going to do is misplace others who were planning to go there.

I think that citizens of a certain age can get $10 Lifetime passes or something along that line, IIRC.

We have one of those senior lifetime National Park passes, and hoped to use it a couple of years ago when we hit Mt. Rushmore....turns out it's a "National Memorial" and not part of park system.
Hence...the wallet had to open up.

Yep - at age 62.....wifey and I had both just turned 52 a couple of weeks before a road trip and decided to stop in Arizona at the Saguaro National Park — we bought the 10 dollar lifetime pass, which was actually less than what the one visit would have cost us.

Why only 9 and 10 year olds? Sounds like age discrimination to me.

Reparation for the park and memorial closings that he punished USS with after his sequester pout. Not... Just more free stuff to distract the simple minded.

I think it is age 60, $20 per rest of life.
I am worried about these inner city folks getting out there with inadequate gear and no maps. There will no doubt be lots of Search and Rescue expense. We already incur a lot of them in the Washington state national parks with teenagers wearing flip-flops and spraining ankles and folks getting lost and needing rescues.

Why are we paying for park admission? We have already paid for the parks with our tax dollars. Smacks of double taxation to me.
